Great Office PC
Pros: Very Sturdy, quiet PC. USB 3.0 on back. Easy to open up PC and get to the internals. i5-3470 Ivy Bridge processor is plenty fast for computing. Designed for an office environment and this is the NEAR perfect solution for that 2x PCIe slots and 2x PCI slots Windows 10 Pro with COA Sticker on the outer case
Cons: Proprietary Parts - the mother board is Lenovo brand and the power supply cannot be replaced commercially because all the plugs are non-standard, even the plug that goes into the motherboard. Very limited upgradeability. Other than ram and replacing your hard drive, can't do much else. Can't replace the DVD drive w/blue ray because blu ray drives are not short enough. You can't add a second hard drive because there are only 2 SATA power plugs and those plugs come out of the motherboard and being used by the HDD and DVD drive. No molex or vacant power plugs coming out of the PSU whatsoever. Also, CPU runs hot - 1 fan air intake and no exhaust fans or places to put an exhaust fan. My CPU ran as hot as 77 degrees under load - unit is an open area with good ventilation so that's not causing it; changed profile in bios from quiet to thermal performance and that seemed to lowered temps a little bit. Speaking of which, BIOS is very limited, can't even change the RAM timings.
Overall Review: -If you plan to use this as an office PC, this don't hesitate to get this. Top of the line - quad core i5 is overkill for office environment but you don't ever have to worry about slowdown from multi-tasking and it makes for good future proof. -I was going to convert this PC into an HTPC/Steam gaming box. This is not ideal for that because of the limitations for upgrades and thermal issues. I put in an MSI GTX 750 Ti low profile video card and it covered the second PCIe slot so I couldn't put in a cable tuner card unless it's PCI. Also, I wanted to switch out the PSU to feed the videocard upgrade ample power but it's proprietary power supply. Because of the powerful i5 it did well for gaming - with my added in video card (Battlefield 1 at Medium settings - well above 60 FPS) but it just got too toasty for my comfort; I'm not knocking stars for that because this PC is not designed for that kind of gaming but I am knocking it for not allowing simple upgrades or additional hard drive increases. Any PC should allow you to add a second hard drive. The only way to do that here is to unplug the DVD drive. Overall, for cheaper than the price of Windows 10 Pro, this PC is worth buying as long as your needs don't involve anything more than RAM upgrades (and for an office environment the 4GB included is enough).
Pros: nice colors cool working remots cooling comparable to other 120mm AIOs
Cons: First one I received, the RGB light on the socket pump was not working. I don't care about RGB but this PC was being built for a kid and RGB was important to him. I RMA'd it and received a replacement from Newegg. That one was even worse, the RGB on the pump worked, however it sounded like not enough liquid was put in because it "gurgled" continuously. I should have just kept the one where the RGB didn't work because that wasn't as noisy. Nonetheless I gave up on this. - But at the end of the day, I shouldn't have to make either compromise - both these failings are unacceptable - Hub is proprietary plug so if you want to add you must buy rosewill RGB fans
Overall Review: Rosewill is cheap for a reason, I shouldn't have tried them again, I previously bought a mouse from them and the scroll wheel failed in 1 month, I also bought a pcie 4-antenna WiFi card and that failed after 5 months (kept disconnecting, required PC restart to reconnect) so shame on me for buying Rosewill again. You have been warned
5 stars because of best value $$
Pros: - Exceeded expectations! - Plugged 3-pin into MSI Z690 motherboard along with other RGB products and they all sync perfectly using the MSI control software. - colors are vibrant and do not look washed out - matches perfectly with my RGB water cooler and it's RGB fans - comes with set of screws that mount to PC case and set of long screws in case you want to mount to an AIO radiator instead (most kits only come with PC case mounting screws) - hub is magnetic and sticks well (stuck mine to side of PSU due case panel spacing) - wires are long enough to comfortably install in a mid-tower ATX case for easy cable management - fans seem pretty quiet - comes with all the wiring needed to either work as a stand alone RGB system or to sync with the motherboard using the 3 pin addressable connection which is common among many contemporary motherboards. - Foam padded where the screws connect which ensures quieter operations
Cons: - being picky but it connects to a molex for power rather than sata power - some new PSUs may not have molex connectors so be aware - Mispelling on the box "RGB LED Hub Reatures" - does not inspire QC confidence (don't worry, the equipment is solid IMHO) - Included remote has limited RGB configurations (however motherboard software does not)
Overall Review: - I build and sell PCs and usually for motherboard addressable kits, they usually run $30, however I got this kit at half the price - based on that I give it five starts because of the value, yet just as good as those more pricy ones, if not better. I purchased two when they were on sale and was really impressed with them that when they went on sale again I purchased another two. - This is a very inexpensive way to increase the value and attractiveness of PCs. You'd be surprised how many customers request RGB fans on their PC - sometimes it's a deal breaker and I would not hesitate to use this exclusively in future customer builds as long as price is right. - Of note, I have not used the remote extensively since I have RGB controlled through the motherboard software. When I quickly tested the remote, it does seem limited, however depending on the motherboard RGB software, it allows for endless combinations/configurations so don't worry these fans' RGB were not limited (no more than all the other RGB accessories installed).
No name brand - Earning credibility
Pros: - I never heard of this brand but wanted to get inexpensive DDR4 3600MHZ ram for my son's new build - This is running in an x570 Asus pro gaming motherboard, with an AMD 3600 CPU and an RTX 2070. - I took a chance and this RAM is delivering; - Set it to XMP (DOCP in the ASUS bios); right when the build was done I ran windows memory diagnostic, no errors there and this has been going strong for months with HEAVY gaming -Lifetime warranty
Cons: - orange is meh, got it for the speed, not the looks so not that big a deal and the aluminum orange is very nice if orange is your color - It is a new brand so still building a reputation - lifetime warranty could be OBE if the company doesn't last - no case sticker included (lol I'm desperately looking for cons here)
Overall Review: - Yes I would recommend this - its performance has been solid and stable thus far - Of note, I do not have anything overclocked so I cannot speak to that, and how this RAM would do there, but for its advertised speed I am getting the stability I would expect of G.Skill, or Corsair that I usually buy. (EDIT) - I've been using this memory for over a year and recently I was getting errors on my PC. Did a Memory Test in Windows and one of the sticks did not pass. I contacted the company and they had me send them a screenshot of the test, at which point they agreed to replace my RAM. I'm providing this edit to my original review because a good way to judge a company is by their customer service when things go bad. Needless to say they impessed me; their communication was EXTREMELY responsive throughout the entire process and the instructions for replacement were actually quite easy and very reasonable. The replacements arrived in a timely manner (considering they were shipped from Taiwan) and worked perfectly. Oloy has made life-long customer out of me!
Another Garbage Rosewill product
Pros: - Good sound - Feels durable - USB - plug and play and automatically recognized across PCs with minimal fuss in mic or sound settings - software is easy to use - RGB lights are nice
Cons: - After 6 months of use, the microphone failed. i was very surprised because the whole mic areas seems durable and is detachable. Just one day no one could hear me in my zoom calls. I had to bend the mic upwards and then they could hear me but the moment I let go mic stopped working. I don't know if the short is in the connection, mic boom or what but it's not worth trying to fix this.
Overall Review: I have officially concluded that Rosewill is flatout garbage and shame on me for keeping on giving them a chance. Here's a list of what i bought from Rosewill that has failed me in 2020. - Rosewill gaming mouse - scroll wheel malfunction after 1 month (when scrolling up it would scroll up and down, same thing when scrolling down). - Rosewill 4 antenna wifi pcie card - after 6 months of solid performance it started disconnecting and only way to reconnect was to power off the system - tried it in multiple pcs - Rosewill 120mm RGB AIO CPU water cooler - first one, RGB didn't light up on the socket, replacement one made a continuous loud water gargling noise - Just stay away from this product and pretty much anything Rosewill - I should know better, learn from my mistakes and spend the extra for something quality from a credible brand..
Great keyboard with 1 Major Shortfall
Pros: - the clicking buttons are very satisfying - This is on my son's PC and he games a lot (Tarkov, Rust, Gary's Mod, Minecraft, Deadside), and this thing can take a beating. Going on several months strong - Colors are nice and many adjustable settings
Cons: - One major con - you CANNOT set a single color light on this model. I thought you could, my son has a black and red (I know...so original) theme and we could not set the red color on this. It does come with instructions on setting color patterns and blinking but the manual does not have anything on setting a single color. i looked on the internet and the conclusion was that this model does not support that feature.
Overall Review: Aside from that one con I mentioned, if you are looking for a small mechanical keyboard with cool colors, this will fit the bill perfectly and I would still recommend this.
Refurbished from this seller means "defective"
Received well packaged however powered it up and no wifi signal whatsoever on any of my devices. Did a factory reset and still same despite light being green. Contacted seller for exchange but no response after 2 days so Newegg assumed responsibility of the return in absence of seller response. Thank you Newegg! Would not recommend this seller however.
