Great for HTPC
Pros: Well built, came with everything I needed and more.
Cons: M2 port is on the bottom but it wasn't an issue for me. Just something to keep in mind.
Overall Review: Easy set up, fit perfectly into my Borg Cube case by mycherrytree.com Ryzen 2 2700 16 GB GSkill 3000 RAM RX 550
Cheap and easy but...
Pros: Really cheap and came with thermal pads, heat sinks, and screw risers which was nice. The little things matter.
Cons: I got this for my workstation, and it's not a big deal to me, but the slot that goes to the pci bus doesn't seem to work... At least on my office-issued Dell Optiplex 5040. I just put the second drive into the slot that connects to SATA and it was fine. This is good enough for me, but keep it in mind that it may not work depending on your motherboard.
Overall Review: I would buy it again, and make sure you get a B or B+M keyed drive if you want to use the SATA connected drive. I was lucky that the drive I had on hand was B+M. It's hard to beat this value!
Good so far
Pros: Fast read times 256 Gb for the price I paid was a steal
Cons: The shape is kind of awkward, it sticks into my leg when its on my keyring, so I took it off. It can get fairly warm when transferring for a long time Slow writing of large contiguous files
Overall Review: Great deal on sale, and it's mostly being used to move files from old to new computers in an office setting. It's fast enough and large enough for the job.
Works as intended
Pros: Put a WD SN750 1 TB m.2 drive I salvaged from a broken laptop at work. It's fast and was easy to put together. It's definitely sturdy, and is very heavy for ita size.
Cons: As other users said, it can get pretty warm, even approaching hot when in heavy use. Keeping it out in the open helps a lot. Also, I don't love the RGB but it's not a huge deal.
Overall Review: This is the best m.2 external enclosure I've used so far, if I end up with more spare drives I'll probably get a few more of these.
