Great monitor backed by a worthless company

ASUS ProArt Series PA246Q Black 24.1" 6ms P-IPS Height/Swivel/Pivot Adjustable LCD Monitor w/2 USB hub, Card Reader & Display port 400cd/m2 50000:1 DCR
ASUS ProArt Series PA246Q Black 24.1" 6ms P-IPS Height/Swivel/Pivot Adjustable LCD Monitor w/2 USB hub, Card Reader & Display port 400cd/m2 50000:1 DCR

Pros: The PA246Q is a fantastic monitor that produces nearly 100% of the adobe RBG color spectrum, and it shows. I am seeing details in my work that I have been missing and it has made a world of difference in the quality of my work. It also performs surprisingly well for games too, although it may not be quite as fast as many of the monitors that are geared towards the gaming community. As someone who spends a great deal of time working with all kinds of media, I can not recommend this monitor enough...except for one thing...

Cons: When it arrives, immediately and thoroughly check for any defects, such as dead pixels. The reason being that it is way easier to exchange though the retailer than it is to RMA though ASUS. Although ASUS claims to have changed their policy regarding dead pixels, it simply has not held true. I ordered two of these and one of them arrived with a dead pixel. According to ASUS's own literature, a monitor with non-functioning pixels is automatically eligible for an Advance ship RMA. It has been 3 months since I began trying to get an Advance ship RMA for this monitor to be replaced and they have more or less blown me off every time. I've called 5 times, emailed many times, filled out RMA forms, everything else under the sun, and nothing has happened. I've even had a couple reps quote me the old warranty, to which I have had to correct them and tell them to look at their own website. A monitor sold with any dead pixels is simply defective and useless to me!

Overall Review: While it is an awesome product, beware of ASUS and their fake warranty. If you still want this product, then go for it, but trust me, you don't want to deal with ASUS and their less than caring support team. If they really valued their customers, especially the ones who spent $500 for a color accurate monitor, then there wouldn't be people like me having to write this just to warn others! I would rate this higher, but I don't want other people to suffer like I have!
