This thing cooks!
Pros: It's super easy to set up, I used the ethernet connection. Some people reported having problems setting up the Netflix account. I had some problems at first but I read the manual and followed the instructions and I was able to get a code and everything is gravy. The one thing I did different was to sign up to Netflix on my computer and start the registration process on the Seagate Theater, it didn't work at first but when I changed the Netflix screen to my Que, I was able to attain a code for the activation. I don't know if that was the reason it worked or if it was just a coincidence, in any case, I got it to work and have had no problems streaming movies.
Cons: The unit is a little slow to respond to the remote. You press a button, see the red light on the Theater unit blink and nothing happens for a couple of seconds. It runs HOT! I had a Toshiba 2.5" portable drive running off the usb power and it froze, couldn't change screens or turn off the unit, even when using the reset button. I finally had to unplug the power for it to reset. I placed the unit in a cooler position and it has worked great since.
Overall Review: DON'T LOSE THE REMOTE! There are no buttons on the Theater unit itself you couldn't do anything with it without the remote control.
Pros: After reading all the bad reviews I was nervous about buying this item. I got mine and downloaded the software off Netgear's web site and everything is great. It took me about 4 minutes to set up the wireless adapter and it works great. I had no problems connecting with my network and it's faster than my older G wireless adapters.
Cons: It doesn't come with any software, you have to download it from Netgear but who knows how long they will offer the software. The wire is really short, so if you want to set up your adapter away from your monitor/computer, you will have to buy an extension usb cable.
Overall Review: If you order this USB adapter, you will not be disappointed.
This is one COOL cooler
Pros: This was my first time using an aftermarket cpu cooler and I couldn't be more pleased with the results. Easy to install, instructions easy to follow. It keeps my cpu running very cool, it never gets anywhere near 40 when it on full load. My other computer runs at 40 when it's at rest, so significant improvement in the cooling department.
Cons: It comes with thermal compound already applied to the cpu cooler, but it doesn't state that anywhere. I ended up ordering some but didn't need it. Rookie mistake on my part but now I have thermal compound for my next build.
Overall Review: I heard some people complain on how large it is but it is very easy to install and works great. You will have to install your RAM before installing this monster, the fan guard does get in the way but I had read someone else's review so I knew what to expect.
Pros: This is a great power supply. All the cables are encased in a black mesh, which makes for a very clean looking set up. The unit I got had a 80mm case fan with it's own speed control that was mounted on a case expansion slot.
Cons: Both fan speed controls end up on the back of the case, so could be a hassle to work them, depending on how you have your tower.
Overall Review: This was my first build where the case I chose didn't have a power supply and this unit was very easy to install and the instructions were so simple to follow even a novice with little experience could follow them. I did.
