Most Favorable Review

I like it

Silicon Power 64GB Blaze B30 USB 3.0 Flash Drive (SP064GBUF3B30V1K)
Silicon Power 64GB Blaze B30 USB 3.0 Flash Drive (SP064GBUF3B30V1K)

Pros: Unlike the most negative review, my drive is fairly fast. Around 30 megabytes per second write in USB 3 & 20 in USB 2. Copying files over in USB 3 topped out at the transfer speed of my hard drive, so can't complain there.

Cons: None for me. Shipping is a bit slow, but thanks to other reviewers I bought this drive knowing that.

Overall Review: I'm just waiting to see how long this drive lasts, but so far so good.

1080P HD Webcam Desktop Laptop Computer PC Camera Built in Microphone Clip-On Video Conferencing Video Calling Web Cam
1080P HD Webcam Desktop Laptop Computer PC Camera Built in Microphone Clip-On Video Conferencing Video Calling Web Cam

Pros: It has a light to let you know it's plugged in, which is nice

Cons: Image quality is worse than a 720p logitech webcam I bought 8 years ago.

Overall Review: It was supposed to be an upgrade, but wasn't, so was really a waste of money. So... I guess you could pair it with a cheap old computer for a budget?

Like a tablet but a laptop

Acer Laptop Aspire Intel Celeron N2830 (2.16GHz) 4GB Memory 500GB HDD Intel HD Graphics 15.6" Windows 8.1 64-Bit ES1-511-C59V

Pros: Good specs for its price Surprisingly solid build quality Surprising good battery battery life Able to be a wireless hotspot Speakers can be heard decently Good line-out audio quality Decent screen Add-ons that actually improve Windows 8 usability A webcam Keyboard's alright

Cons: Low general upgrade potential/costly to upgrade(see other thoughts) No operating system USB McAfee anti-virus installed(and a few other bloatwares) Speaker audio quality is somewhat low but passable Lack of pronounced buttons on touchpad kills usability

Overall Review: The stock hard drive in a thin 2.5in drive, which greatly limits hard drive upgrade options. A bigger drive will not fit the mounting setup in the computer. Even though the computer does not come with an optical drive, it does have the ability to add one. This means one could add an aftermarket optical drive or 2nd hard drive via a caddy designed to used that slot. One screw holds the place-holder piece for the slot. The system is easy to breakdown, making most repairs or upgrades fairly easy provided you can afford them. The system basically uses a tablet motherboard and processor so the insides are surprisingly roomy. Essentially, your upgrades are limited to ram & hard drive, though. The ram is under the motherboard, btw. The hinge covers will likely make any work or upgrades in the screen area a nightmare. Also, a potential break point to watch out of. Overall, for the price, this a pretty computer, but it's going to need much more use/testing to see if it's really a solid purchase. So far so good.

Lovely piece

Pros: Simple, yet elegant design Decent workmanship

Cons: 18 inch chain is a bit too short for most necks

Overall Review: The chain is a big killer on the rating for me. Being thin works, but that short length makes it uncomfortable at best on a lot of women.

The best purchase I've made in months

Visual Land Red 2GB MP3 Player ME-953
Visual Land Red 2GB MP3 Player ME-953

Pros: Good regular audio quality, with the EQ presets being surprising good(all were tested with a variety of headphones & earbuds). The earbugs that came with my player(that I didn't know I would be getting) are quite good. I've owned many earbuds over the years & these are the second best I've ever had(2nd only to a set that costs more than this MP3 player), because of both clear audio quality & the higher than average ability to output bass(matching the output of full headphones). The screen is pretty easy to read despite it's small size & the menus are fairly easy to navigate. Also, the battery life is as good as advertised. It is as easy to put songs on as an MP3 should be(just hook it up, open the player, & drag songs onto it). Lastly, the Micro SD slot allows you to expand the capacity of the player at a very low cost.

Cons: I can't figure out how to setup the Custom EQ that the device is advertised to have. There's no mention of it in the manual. I've been through the various menus a few times & couldn't find it, so I'm going to assume that it's a mistakenly listed feature. Even though the biggest selling point to this product for me was the Custom EQ, not having that feature isn't as disappoint as I expected, since the Presets are actually really good. However, I do have to deduct points for not having it(or at least not having it where I can find & use it), which gives it a 9 out of 10, rather than a 10 out of 10.

Overall Review: Despite the built-in speaker being smaller than my thumbnail, it puts out a surprisingly decent amount of volume. At full volume, I could hear it in the next room with the player being across the other room(which was unexpected, but tested anyway). As a minor, the music transfer rate could be a bit faster, but it is adequate. Finally, the belt clip holds surprisingly well, which is a good plus.

Pros: Reasonable price if it worked.

Cons: Got 1. It didn't work. D-Link tech support tried their hardest, but it just couldn't be helped. DOA. RMAed up a replacement. Same thing.

Overall Review: At first I had some issues over certain aspects of the RMA, but the folks at Newegg were on the ball & corrected the situation. Much appreciation, guys.
