Most Favorable Review

Wonderful is an understatement!

ZALMAN CNPS9500 AT 2 Ball CPU Cooling Fan/Heatsink
ZALMAN CNPS9500 AT 2 Ball CPU Cooling Fan/Heatsink

Pros: I was installing on a ECS 945P-A (v1.1) MOBO with a Pentium D 2.8 GHz chip. Bios uses the PMW fan speed control running "SpeedFan". This fan is extremely easy to install PROVIDED you can remove the motherboard from the computer to install the LG775 Chip Mounting Bracket on the backside of the MOBO. Fan works like a charm! I had been running at 250+F on the CPU and right away went down to the 140F range during peak. I love the PMW fan speed control built into this fan! I selected this one because of that (I know I will tend to forget about checking the FanMate manual controller offered on Zalman's other CPU fans). This fan is a MUST BUY!

Cons: NONE! Those who had problems installing this referring to the screws are not paying attention to the installation instructions. See other thoughts.

Overall Review: During installation the final attachment of the fan to the CPU is by attaching two screws through a clip into the previously installed mounting bracket that is secured to the MOBO. This clip has a spring loaded feature to maintain pressure of the fan on the CPU for secure contact. Other reviewers have said the pressure needed to secure these screws is too much (referring to the driver slipping off the screw head due to the pressure being exerted). The video on the Zalman Website is very clearly showing the installation of one screw by simply starting it into the mounting bracket. This allows a good 1/8" leeway for attaching the second screw on the opposite side of the clip. If you tighten the first screw down before starting the second you will have the problems other have had. Now start the other screw into its hole on the opposite side of the clip. Now you move from one screw back to the other progressively tightening each screw down until the fan is secured to the mounting bracket.

Worked for Two Weeks

IOGEAR GUB431 4-Port USB 2.0 Automatic Printer Switch
IOGEAR GUB431 4-Port USB 2.0 Automatic Printer Switch

Pros: It was great when it worked!

Cons: This item simply stopped being recognized by my system (Windows 7 Ultimate, 64 bit, on the desktop and Windows 7 Home Premium, 64 bit, on the laptop) within two weeks of being installed. Re-installation of software failed. The hub simply stopped being recognized by the device manager. No printing could pass through any of the four ports. Even downloading the Windows 7 (64 bit) drivers from the iogear website did not work. I am very disappointed. Until both laptop and desktop stopped recognizing the hub/switch it worked great (that was only about two weeks). I will now contact customer support at iogear for an RMA.

Poorly Enginered

HP Officejet Pro 8500 CB022A Up to 35 ppm Black Print Speed 4800 x 1200 dpi Color Print Quality InkJet MFC / All-In-One Color Printer
HP Officejet Pro 8500 CB022A Up to 35 ppm Black Print Speed 4800 x 1200 dpi Color Print Quality InkJet MFC / All-In-One Color Printer

Pros: None yet. I couldn't get it started!

Cons: The issue (so far) during set-up is with the placement and method for installing the "Print Heads" into the machine. The print heads are a critical component and MUST be handled delicately to ensure the printer actually will print. The idea to have print heads separate from the ink cartridges and their being replaceable seems like a good idea. The problem is HP has designed them to be pushed into a tiny, cramped slot which ensures the cartridges are jammed into the mounting frame work. Also, The fact the "Black/Yellow" print head is too big to fit the slot so the locking cover will not close is a serious problem. How Can HP possibly design such a installation AND allow such poor specs on their components is beyond me! These parts need to be able to be loaded smoother (and easier) than loading a bullet into a bolt rifle! And this the NEW product not the refurbished item offered on Newegg! I am horribly disappointed!

Overall Review: I doubt anyone should buy this!

Bent Pins. Packaging a problem

Link Depot DVI-10-DD Black 2 x DVI 24-pin (Others Also Call 25-Pin or 24+1 Pin) Male Male to Male DVI-D Male to DVI-D Male Dual Link Cable
Link Depot DVI-10-DD Black 2 x DVI 24-pin (Others Also Call 25-Pin or 24+1 Pin) Male Male to Male DVI-D Male to DVI-D Male Dual Link Cable

Pros: This worked right away (after bending the pins and mounting sleeve back into shape). It does what it is supposed to and solved the problem I had using two monitors. One of my DVI cables was not a "Dual Link." That monitor never would light up with two monitors connected to the Graphics card.

Cons: The packaging of this cable is a simple plastic bag. Another reviewer suggested that may be the cause of pins getting bent. My cable arrived with pins and the mounting sleeve bent. Luckily I could bend everything back to position (without weakening the pins). Plugged it in and it worked.

Overall Review: I still give it 5 eggs. The low cost, the heavy duty construction, and the FAST shipping all go making this an item I recommend. I will get another one (or two). Newegg rocks!! This arrived before Newegg sent the e-mail order confirmation!!!

Wonderful Drive

Seagate BarraCuda 7200.11 ST3500320AS 500GB 7200 RPM 32MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive Bare Drive
Seagate BarraCuda 7200.11 ST3500320AS 500GB 7200 RPM 32MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive Bare Drive

Pros: Fast, Nice large Cache (32 Mb), Holds lots of "stuff," ("Stuff" is important). Sort of a Technological George Carlin Principle. Works like it is supposed to. Clearly superior HD compared to Western Digital (especially since this has 32 Mb Cache)! The larger Cache is the reason I bought this version. I have owned 5 other Seagate Hard Drives of various sizes (PATA and SATA) and never had a problem with any of them.

Cons: This is an OEM drive. It doesn't have the Seagate Disk Wizard CD with it (see "Other thoughts" below). It took me a couple of tries to get the drive to be formatted so I could load the Windows XP OS

Overall Review: Before you remove your old drive to install this one make sure you have downloaded and created a bootable disk with the formatting tools from Seagate. Depending upon your specific situation you may, or may not, be able to format the drive (so you can install an operating system) once it is installed using formatting options already on your system. Other than that consideration this has been a wonderful addition to my system. I am VERY happy with the purchase!

My Favorite Air Cooling CPU Fan!

ZALMAN CNPS9500 AT 2 Ball CPU Cooling Fan/Heatsink
ZALMAN CNPS9500 AT 2 Ball CPU Cooling Fan/Heatsink

Pros: The thing works!! The PWM fan speed adjustments is a super plus (given how I'm someone who will forget to manually boost the fan speed risking burn-out)!! This thing works!! It really cools the CPU wonderfully! Buy this! I have saved a ton of coin not having to install liquid cooling by using this CPU cooler.

Cons: If you don't do the usual checking the space inside the case to be sure you have clearance then sorry for you. Buy another computer case that fits. It will be worth it in the end. Zalman doesn't make all of their CPU coolers with PWM control. Bummer.

Overall Review: Installation is actually very easy if you gently screw the final retaining screws holding the fan/heatsink to the mounting frame only a turn at a time alternating between the two screws. If you screw one down completely then try to do the other you will be forced to push the spring loaded retaining strap very hard, risking the screw driver slipping off and gouging the motherboard. The Zalman Website have an animated video illustrating the process in perfect detail.
