Pros: Despite the fact that neither the Crucial website nor the NewEgg website seem to confirm this memory is compatible with the Dell Inspiron 8600, I have found that it works perfectly. Through my research, this memory should be compatible for the following: Dell Inspiron 1200, 2200, 510m, 5150, 5160, 600m, 700m, 710m, 8500, 8600, 8600c, & 9200; Dell Latitude 100L, 110L, D400, D505, D600/D800, X300; & Dell Precision Workstation M60 Notebook.
