Really Nice
Pros: Bought this for my son at college. He fits it in his backpack along with his laptop and uses it at the library. He has only had it for a few days and he tells me that he has already used it a half dozen times. He tells me that the scans are very fast and the images are very clear. Using only the USB cable for both power and communication is brilliant.
Cons: None --He hasn't complained about anything.
Overall Review: NewEgg's shipping is incredible--I ordered on a Tuesday morning and my son received the scanner Wednesday afternoon -- that's with standard shipping !
Update
Pros: Still functioning perfectly--very pleased
Cons: I should have purchased two of them
Overall Review: Purchased on 6/25. Rebate recieved 8/16.
Very Nice
Pros: Using this with a 5 year old WRT 54g. Cable Modem-> WRT 54g-> Trendenet TEG-S80G-> 4 different wired computers in my house . Previously , I had been using the WRT 54g as the switch. Internet access seems to be the same -- file transfers between computers is much faster.
Cons: None.
Overall Review: This thing truly 'Plug 'n Play'. Needed to scrounge up one 5 foot Cat5 cable to go from the WRT 54g to the TEG-S80G then moved 4 cables from the WRT 54g to the TEG-S80G , powered up , rebooted the computers and I was in business. The whole exercise took 5 minutes.
Very Nice !!
Pros: Very elegant design--perfect for travel. Very clear + bright screen. Great battery life.
Cons: Don't like the keyboard . It feels like it is going to break. The black bezel around the display is very wavy and reflective(also a fingerprint magnet)--I don't understand why they couldn't have made it in a matte finish like the exterior casing.Pre-loaded with a LOT of JUNK software. No 64 bit video drivers available. W7 Starter is horrible.
Overall Review: I bought it for my son who is spending the summer in Italy and didn't want to lug his 17" laptop around. My 'Cons' listed above amount to 'nitpiks' , inasmuch as I bought the machine fully intending to 'nuke' the factory software installation.I popped 2GB's of PC 6400 DDR2 and installed W7 'Ultimate'(32 bit) , downloaded a couple of drivers from ASUS' website and this thing purrs like a kitten.
Hat Tip to "Crazy Eddie"....
Pros: Just thought I would reiterate what " Crazy Eddy " said..."If you want to use this card to get clear QAM from your cable company you need to get a splitter and have your input going into antenna stub as well as the CATV stub." This little nugget of info is very important...Originally I thought that the card was defective because it would not pick up digital signals over cable
Cons: Really awful documentation !
Overall Review: Pleased with the product , very displeased with ASUS support/documentation.
Good Product...Terrible Documentation...
Pros: Easy install..A lot of goodies included... IR Blaster and Receiver work very well..Easy to set up.
Cons: Included "Owners Manual" is a joke...online version is just as bad.
Overall Review: Adding this to a SFF box for my son (going away to college--no room in his dorm for a T.V. and computer--so this kills 2 birds with one stone.) Still playing around with it.
