Great Card
Pros: Fantastic card
Cons: None so far.
Overall Review: I own two of these in two different machines. Both in service for over a year without a single hiccup. They do not run hot. Are they the best? Yes, for my price range and no for performance as the higher cards will always out perform, but for the money I could spend they are the best workstation graphics cards around.
DOA and dinged by New Egg for it!
Pros: None for this unit. New Egg's fast shipping and RMA Crediting!
Cons: Put this in my machine and it booted then died. Poor quality control. Reinstalled the original PSU and the machine is working like a charm. I also ding New Egg for this one as they charged me $10.00 to "restock" a defective unit. They were even going to ding me for return postage until I called. I will definitely never use the online RMA again as an immediately defective unit cost ME $10.00 for the privilege of tearing my machine apart including all the Dell wire routing underneath the CPU fan shroud then dealing with an RMA and having to call and ask why I had to pay shipping. Had I noticed I was getting chipped for a restocking fee I would have griped about that, but hey I am the one that ASSumed. I will NEVER buy a PSU from New Egg again.
Overall Review: Bought a new PSU to power an upgraded Video Card. Bought this model as I have read so much about Dell's being finicky about PSUs and this is made specifically for Dells.
Excellent Ram for HP Z800
Pros: Thus far this RAM has been flawless. The savings over HP is, well, huge!
Cons: None.
Unbelievable Machine
Pros: Dual 6 core xeons, liquid cooling, 3 fans for hard drives, 2 fans for RAM, dual video cards, up to 192 GB ram, 4 HD slots, beautiful case design. Excellent air flow channeling, No tool case extends to hard drives and optical drives, 1180 watt power supply that pulls out with a locking handle.
Cons: No spare power cabling, it must be ordered.
Overall Review: To address the other commenter, who is one of those that comment on something they don't own or know anything about. When you built your machine, just because you bought the same amount of ram, an i7 and a terabyte HD doesn't mean you came close to building a machine like this. The comment that "just because it has a xeon in it doesn't mean it's a workstation or that it's worth the price", is less than...well I will just say, less than reality based. My z800 has dual liquid cooled 6-core xeons (yes that makes it a workstation and not your PC), 96 GB of ECC buffered RAM (your machine won't go there), 340 GB SSD and 3 1TB SAS drives, I could go on. I have owned and built numerous PCs in the last 20+ years and I can say without a doubt, that this is the best machine I have ever owned. This computer is absolutely worth every penny one spends on it. The case, designed by BMW design works is absolutely the most well thought out, solid case I have owned.
Not too happy
Pros: None
Cons: Ill fitting in an XPS 420. DOA.
Overall Review: How about some quality control here.
Excellent Card
Pros: Very fast and affordable workstation level card. Fermi rocks! This is a great card for the price point. As an aside it does great with Blu-Ray discs as well, no HDCP issues at all.
Cons: Would have liked an HDMI port for the XBox work breaks!
