ThermalRock Eclipse RH-M040-2AW Silver Aluminum 0.8mm (Chassis) Aluminum (Front Panel) ATX Mid Tower Computer Case
ThermalRock Eclipse RH-M040-2AW Silver Aluminum 0.8mm (Chassis) Aluminum (Front Panel) ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

Pros: -Good construction -Spacious interior -Rounded Edges -Mostly tooless assembly -Sleek Design -Nice stock lights

Cons: -Low output (roughly 45-50 CFM) case fans...this caused a noticeable rise in idle temps from my previous case. Recommend ~80CFM for good cooling...the 120s provide a good CFM:Noise ratio. -Uneven light intensity on front door (as denoted in the picture) -Need for front-left door to be removed to install Cd-Rom drive in top 5.25" bay...a known design flaw -Inability to fully open front-right door if the audio or usb ports on right door are utilized -Small cracks in glass upon arrival...nothing large, but noticeable upon inspection

Overall Review: 3.4 intel (37C idle in 78-79F room) 6800 AGP (47C in 78-79F room) 1 Sata HD

Comments: Eric you should try setting the ram as cl2 in the bios and raising the ram's voltage to the uppermost limit. Newegg sold these items as cl2 because they are manufactured as cl2 by ocz. Don't give the ram a bad rating if you don't know what you are doing. Sometimes, ram does not read as SPD, so you very simply set your latencies and ram appropriately. If it still does not work, RMA to OCZ, newegg has nothing to do with whether or not this ram boots at cl2 so use the noggin next time eric!

Comments: I had a Zalman 7000AlCu on a 3.0E ocd to 3.25 using AS 5. That setup -Zalman +XP-90= 10C drop. And that's before the AS 5 break in time. I used the Thermaltake 2500RPM 52.3CFM 92MM fan. Get this heatsink...It's LIGHT, it looks cool, and PERFORMS better than coolers twice its size and weight (31C idle, 45C BF2 with a prescott 478 3.0E Ocd is a very good number)

Comments: Very Good CPU. IF one plans to purchase, a very good aftermarket cooling system is crucial for optimal stability. The chip has good overclocking potential. I'm am limited to an extremely stable 3.25ghz @55C highs during BF2 action under my 2-3-3-8 patriot pc3200 (normally 2-3-2-5) 32x64. The 32x64 organization is my problem but better ram (64x64 or 128x64) with low latencies will allow this cpu to soar.
