Amazing Motherboard for Overclockers
Pros: There were many choices out there for consideration when choosing an enthusiast motherboard. What I was looking for was simplicity, overclockability and performance, and stability. MSI really nailed all these check boxes for me. What I purchased: MSI Meg X570 Unify AMD 3900X @ All Core 4.4GHZ 2 x 16GB G-Skill 3200C14 ram @ 3800 16,17,16 1T - Samsung B-DIE bE Quiet Dark Rock Pro 4 CPU cooler Corsir RM850 Western Digital SN750 All of the components included installed with no issues and booted first try. MSI includes options within the BIOS to Auto Overclock the CPU and Memory with a click of the button, which makes it easy for the novice builder, but for those that focus on manually overclocking, there are many options available within the BIOS. What I like is that I can use the options in MSI BIOS to set some basic overclocking parameters and then tweak from there. After setting my 3900X at an all core 4.4GHZ overclock and memory at 3800 MHZ, I've had no stability issues. Not sure if I got a golden sample on my CPU and Memory, or if it's just a great motherboard that MSI has created. I'll go with the later.
Overall Review: Items of note: This board exudes quality upon inspection. It has heavy metal heatsinks on it which will work well to soak up the heat. The chipset fan only spins up when the system needs to cool itself which keeps the noise down. The included heatsinks for the 3 x M.2 slots work well to cool my M.2 SSDs. In case of a failed OC you can click the BIOS flashback button on the back of the system to reboot which is very convenient. The ability to create custom fan plans based on the various temperature sensors across the motherboard (increase airflow based on CPU temp, chipset temp, etc..) allows me to keep the board cool when the load increases, but keeps the noise level down when the system is idling. I do like the fact that MSI has a compatibility matrix to assist with choosing the right parts, and it's extensive. It seems like they had tested every part out there and included those results on their website. Overall, this is the best motherboard I've purchased in all of my years of building PCs. 20+ years. It just works, and works well.
Best upgrade in years - OLED technology is amazing!
Pros: -Rich vibrant colors and black blacks - My games have been rejuvenated! -4K resolution is a nice jump in clarity when coming from a 1440p monitor -Fast response time - 240hz -Coming from a 27-inch, this 32-inch is a great size and I very quickly adjusted -2 x FULL-SPEED DP 2.1 (80 Gbps) and 2 x HDMI 2.1 (48 Gbps) connectivity -Future proof monitor - When newer Nvidia cards come out with DP 2.1, I am ready (once DP 2.1 is supported, you can run without Display Stream Compression) -Note - Under G-Sync settings in Nvidia Control Panel, make sure you CLICK the checkbox for "Display Specific Settings - Enable settings for the selected display model" This allowed G-Sync/FreeSync Premium Pro to work correctly for me
Cons: -No option for Nvidia DSR currently - Dynamic Super Resolution - This is upscaling - Only seems to be available when NOT using DSC (Display Stream Compression) -The included DP cable is VERY short, you might want to grab another longer DP cord or just use the included HDMI which works fine - Seems the intended purpose of the included DP cord is to connect to a laptop or a device that is right next to the monitor
Overall Review: Highly recommended! Gigabyte seems to have invested the time to make sure the features of this monitor work correctly as I'm not having any issues with it OLED monitors are the future!
Works great with my Intel 12th gen CPU
Pros: Supports 12th and 13th generation Intel CPU's Supports up to 5333mhz DDR4 - I was able to run my 3600mhz ram @ 4800mhz after overclock Very solid and well constructed board Very low VRM temps - Lowest I've seen on a board and I've built many systems Overbuilt heatsinks
Cons: IO shield is not integrated into board Memory slots on board only have 1 side that release via the TAB, don't try and open both sides are you will damage the board.
Overall Review: I recommend this board The bios will auto overclock your system which is nice Make sure to purchase Ram that's listed on Asus hardware compatibility chart to prevent issues with XMP
Great Ram!
Pros: XMP: Works perfect on my ASUS Prime Z690-P WiFi D4 motherboard - Runs Gear Mode 1 by default OC: Was able to overclock the memory to 4800mhz C20,30,30 Gear Mode 2 which gave me 70,000 MB's read speed which rivals DDR5
Overall Review: Hynix IC's on these DIMMS Runs great. I recommend!
Great Performance!
Pros: Surprised at how well this cools my 12600K CPU which is overclocked and is pulling 150W Includes bracket for LGA1700 Very easy installation into Intel system Very quiet
Cons: None
Overall Review: I recommend!
FIrst Time Buyer of Seasonic
Pros: Whisper quiet Cables were easy to manage and are very high quality Plenty of cables included Great packaging and helpful reading materials
Cons: Cabling not as pretty when compared to competition
Overall Review: Have mostly purchased EVGA and Corsair power supplies in the past but wanted the latest tech including ATX 3.0 support and 600w capable native 12VHPWR power connector. This PSU met both requirements. Highly recommended. I would buy the Seasonic Vertex series again.
