:-)Excellent Android tablet
Pros: Quick response, beautiful bright screen, great ergonomics, generous on board storage and RAM. I have experienced no lag in my usual pursuits, including YouTube, Google Sheets, music etc. Zen UI is mostly unobtrusive with some portions an improvement over Android 6.0.
Cons: Hardware: maybe it's me, but the fingerprint reader is not always responsive. When it fails 3x and locks you out for 30 seconds before you can try again, it's just easier to swipe up and unlock with a pattern or PIN. The back button and recent apps button are generally dark and only light up after pressing. This can make it difficult to find them in the dark. My solution is to find the physical Home button and move my finger from there. Bloatware is present, although some Asus apps are an improvement over vanilla Android. Others just take up space. This isn't a problem with the amount of storage included.
Overall Review: With AC speed, light weight, a responsive CPU, beautiful screen etc., I am finding that I am using my tablet more for routine tasks and powering up my Windows 10 PC less. I'd say this is the best tech buy I've made in a few years.
Very effective cooling solution
Pros: Clear installation instructions Easy to install Keeps my Ryzen 2600 CPU well below 50C Quiet but not inaudible
Cons: None
Overall Review: This fits with room to spare in my Silverstone Raven rvz01 case. I can install a slim 120mm case fan above it. I have not done so yet because it has not been needed. I needed quiet because my mini-itx is much closer to me than my previous mid tower pc. Most of the fan noise I have comes from the case fans provided with the case, and my gtx 1070ti graphics card.
excellent for craft show sellers!
Pros: slim and easily pocketable, attractive, integral micro USB cord permits its use without carrying additional cables. The full size USB out port ,with the proper cable, allows devices with other charging ports to use it, or you can charge 2 devices at once. Its 3200 mAh capacity is more than sufficient for my projected needs, being more than twice my phone battery's capacity.
Cons: None so far.
Overall Review: I bought the Anker because I use my smart phone as a charge card reader at craft fairs, and I was running out of juice late in the day. This could impact sales. I needed something that was reliable, saved space, looked good, with sufficient charge to last the day. The Anker's specs gave my all my must-haves, and had a reasonable price. The reviews here on Newegg sealed the deal for me. The device came promptly and in pristine condition. It was fully charged, and tested out fine. The users guide was appropriately small, since a 4-year could figure out its use. I used it at my last show, and it worked perfectly. I have not needed the LED light feature, but it tested out fine. You could read by it if necessary, or find your way in the dark. I can see that it could be useful packing my wares up in the dark.
Great Deal on a Fine Product
Pros: Excellent display; fast execution; quick boot (45 sec); strong wi-fi radio; Asus keyboard improves on default Android keyboard; microSD for expanded storage; also comes with Asus cloud storage; HDMI out was a plus for me; YouTube videos play smoothly
Cons: Glossy screen = glare; hard plastic back does not give me the warm and fuzzies
Overall Review: I did my research with a specific, fairly low budget in mind. I watched video and read reviews on the topic. I haunted several online retailers & auction sites as well as some brick n mortar stores. I narrowed my search to Acer Iconia tab a210, Fujitsu Stylistic m532, and this model. This model gave me the most for my dollar. I took a chance on the refurbished, and I'm glad I did. It got me the 32 GB model. NewEgg shipped quickly, and it arrived faster than expected. The device was in pristine condition: no evidence of wear at all. Pressing the power button yielded a brief view of a battery symbol, then it went dark. A five minute charge allowed me to check it out while it continued charging. Once I introduced the tablet to my network, it immediately and automatically dl'd and installed a firmware update. It has been running smoothly since then. I believe I get 10 hours or more between charges- but I haven't been especially demanding of it yet. It fully charges in 2-3 hours if powered off. If not powered off, a lot longer. I plugged it in around midnight with 75% power, but at 10 AM the following morning it had only advanced to 96%. I own an ASUS eeepc 100HE netbook from a few years ago which I upgraded to Win 7 Home, later adding a 120 GB SSD. The tablet boots faster (expected, even with the SSD), it also downloads and draws web pages faster. I wanted the 10 inch screen size, as opposed to the 7-inch format, to better read magazines. I tested sample mags in the retail stores and found the 7-inch size to be too small for me. I am very impressed with the 10-inch screen. It may not have the pixel count of the retina screen or the B&N HD+, but it is still a beautiful screen, and not nearly so laggy as the latter device. It's a good compromise between pixel count and snappy screen redraw. I'm very happy with the device's capabilities. I'm very happy with the condition of the refurbished tablet I received from NewEgg. I'm very happy with the price I paid as well.
Best Value Case
Pros: -- Meshed drive bay covers with washable filters, meshed peripheral slot covers, and 3 included fans with space for 2 more provide ample air flow for cooling. -- Tool-less 5 1/4" drive bays and front accessible 3 1/2" bays make it easy to install storage. I installed an internal card reader in a 3 1/2" bay in about 5 minutes. -- Fans are quiet. Front fan is a blue LED. -- Good size motherboard cut out for installation of an aftermarket CPU cooler without the need to remove the MB. -- Plenty of wire control options. -- Case has feet that lift it 1/2" above the floor or desktop. This provides ample space for air flow to reach the bottom-placed PSU. The mesh under the PSU has a removable, washable filter to keep dust out of the PSU. -- A rarity in a case this inexpensive, the interior is painted black to match the outside. A minor consideration perhaps, unless you decide to add another LED fan. -- Comes with an adapter for a 2 1/2" drive in one of the several internal 3 1/2" bays
Cons: The HDD activity LED is a bright RED. It is too bright, and the red color clashes with the cool blue fan LED.
Overall Review: This was an easy case to work in. I noticed no sharp edges. The sideways load of the drive bays made it easy to wire up. I was able to make the interior neat and keep air flow unrestricted. Happy with Asus
Pros: I found it pretty easy to assemble my new components into this board. USB 3 and SATA 6Gb/sec are great. I used the included Q-connector kit to make the case connections easy. The included software makes over clocking easy. I put this MB into an Antec three hundred Illusion. It installed without incident. Everything works. I like Asus products in general.
Cons: The issues with dual video cards blocking slots is fairly well known. Not a problem for me, running one HD 5770. A large video card could obstruct the SATA connectors. Again not an issue for me.
Overall Review: This was a new build with parts mostly obtained from Newegg. Very happy with the entire experience. Before you buy, do research. Make sure the RAM you purchase appears on the Qualified Vendors List for the MB, on the ASUS web site. That will maximize your chances of a positive experience.
