Most Favorable Review

This is a well built case.

Antec P182 Gun Metal Black 0.8mm cold rolled steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case
Antec P182 Gun Metal Black 0.8mm cold rolled steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

Pros: Exquisitely designed. Case fans on low setting are whisper quiet and keep the case adequately cooled. Room to route cables behind the motherboard is a big plus. Removable and washable lint/dust filters were a great idea.

Cons: No case speaker? Fans do not include connectors for motherboard case fan monitoring ports. Had to remove the middle drive bay to fit an 8800GTX. Poor documentation and manual and on top of that it was a P180B manual.

Overall Review: The metal flanges on the middle drive bay case are what make the 8800 fit too tight. Mounting the drives in the bottom bay was not a problem and they will probably stay cooler given the bottom fan so nothing to complain about really. I was able to fit a PC Power and Cooling Silencer 600 PSU in this case with minimal effort. Note: The bottom drive bay mounts are vertical not horizontal!

Good chip, LOUD fan.

Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 - Core 2 Quad Kentsfield Quad-Core 2.4 GHz LGA 775 105W None Integrated Graphics Processor - BX80562Q6600
Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 - Core 2 Quad Kentsfield Quad-Core 2.4 GHz LGA 775 105W None Integrated Graphics Processor - BX80562Q6600

Pros: It's a cpu. It either works as advertised or it doesn't.

Cons: The stock cooler is LOUD when under load. I mean unbelievably LOUD. If you go with this cpu (any Intel CPU I guess), seriously consider adding an aftermarket cpu cooler out of the gate. Especially if you're building your rig for silent running.

Overall Review: I'm glad I switched back to Intel after spending a few years with the cheap alternative.

It's good to be home.

ABIT AB9 QuadGT LGA 775 Intel P965 Express ATX Intel Motherboard
ABIT AB9 QuadGT LGA 775 Intel P965 Express ATX Intel Motherboard

Pros: Very stable and fast board. Guru. Had 0 issues installing and getting it up and running, however I did not go RAID. Documentation and manual were thorough and clear. Very good layout.

Cons: No EIDE connectors so be aware of this when purchasing your DVDs/HDs! I found this out at the last minute and had to modify my order. Otherwise none (yet).

Overall Review: I originally found and used Abit when building my first several gaming rigs from '93-'98. Between then and now I had used other manufacturers who will remain anonymous. I had nothing but trouble with those other boards. I am glad to be back with Abit...never should have left.

This thing is a BEAST!

EVGA GeForce 8800 GTX 768MB GDDR3 PCI Express x16 SLI Support Graphics Card 768-P2-N831-AR
EVGA GeForce 8800 GTX 768MB GDDR3 PCI Express x16 SLI Support Graphics Card 768-P2-N831-AR

Pros: I have thrown everything from Vanguard: Saga of Heroes to Supreme Commander with max settings at this card and was not even able to make it sweat.

Cons: Long!

Overall Review: eVGA's StepUp program is a huge plus.
