Great Entry-Level System!

Pioneer HTP-072 5.1 Channel Home Theater Package with 3D AV Receiver, Subwoofer and Satellite Speakers
Pioneer HTP-072 5.1 Channel Home Theater Package with 3D AV Receiver, Subwoofer and Satellite Speakers

Pros: - Comes with receiver and speakers - Comes with a control - iPod compatible - 4 HDMI in ports, 1 out

Cons: - Receiver is HUGE - Subwoofer is not standalone (could be a pro/con)

Overall Review: Okay, so my experience with home theater entertainment system is very low. In the past, I have purchased computer speakers - Logitech 5.1 Z5300 (which this system basically replaced) and some 2.1 Logitech computer desk speakers. Ordering/First Impression: I saw that this item was $199.99 for a receiver that outputs 600W and a 5.1 speaker setup, which I originally wanted. I didn't want anything less than 500W really; in addition, the device is a little future-proof with 3D capability. I ordered the theater system and the 2yr warranty (for the price of 1 yr) on 12-9-13, which shipped from CA, and received the item here in MD on 12-13-13. The box arrived with a huge hole in it that looked like someone kicked it in, so I inspected the items for any damage after opening. Overall, everything looked properly secured with wrapping and styrofoam packing. Setup/Use: Okay, so I've never really set up a theater system before, but I'm really technical in things like this; overall, the setup was easy. I just plugged in the wires in their respective ports in the back of the receiver and the speakers, and I was good-to-go. The wires they provided were fairly long and I cannot tell you how long exactly, but enough to reach from end to end in my parents family room (where I shipped and tested my device) on a tortuous path. Using the system, I am so pleased at the sound that it outputs. I keep the volume level around 40-60, depending on my usage. I've tried it so far watching Transformers on Netflix and Xbox One playing COD: Ghosts as I sit directly in the middle of the room on a folding chair. The bass wasn't as strong during real action packed scenes, but was sufficient to feel a little rumbled; this was expected since its not a standalone system (with its own AC cord) and because the room is fairly open. I truly don't know much about Dolby so I cannot comment on that and any other features. I have not tried to use an iPod on the system yet nor do I have the proper connection to use any on screen display options. Overall: I love this system. I took the plunge because of Newegg's guarantees; if I didn't like the system, I had until Jan. 31st to return it for a full refund. I wouldn't mind eating up the shipping cost; I knew what I was getting myself into. This system I would like to think is top of the entry-level for most home theater systems barely reaching mid-level. The output in wattage is awesome as well as the HDMI connected and optical audio port, but the subwoofer is a little lacking and the A/V receiver is even bigger than my Xbox One, which people think is already too big! If you're in the market for getting into home entertainment and home theater system, this is the best economical option in my opinion. You get everything right off the bat. Anyways, hope this helps all out there who's deciding to take the plunge. I don't think you'll be disappointed; my family and I weren't! :)

First "Real" Keyboard

Corsair CH-9000019-NA Vengeance K70 Mechanical Keyboard
Corsair CH-9000019-NA Vengeance K70 Mechanical Keyboard

Pros: - Cherry MX Red Keys - Key Actuation Pressure - Customizable Bright LED Light - Media Keys (Also, Volume Scroller) - Full Keyboard - Aluminum Plating (Durable) - USB Pass-through - Handrest

Cons: N/A

Overall Review: This is my first "real" keyboard and it's awesome. I don't play a lot of games on my computer that require me to use macros and such, so I opted out of one of those keyboard. The Corsair K70 definitely has increase my typing capability. I'm no longer smashing down on keys to achieve a full tactile feedback that I would like and obtain a response. I love the blue backlight and the Cherry MX Red mechanical keys. I've never experienced these mechanical keyboards, so I didn't know what I was getting myself into. Never will I get anything less now. This is definitely money that has been invested well. The keyboard feels durable with its aluminum construction. On another note, I was able to keep the full keyboard length and obtain all the features that I wanted. I know the "Pros" section that I listed may be a little redundant, but I got what I paid for and nothing less. The volume scroller doesn't freely scroll and it has the knurling (I think that's what it's called) so your finger doesn't slip off or go wild. There's also a cool feature called reactive typing where, if set properly, your keys will light up as you press them and turn off after a second or two. It's definitely that "WOW" factor that you don't need, but can boast about. In essence, perfect keyboard for someone who likes to game in general and is a beginner in keyboard accessories.

Great for my purpose!

CyberpowerPC Desktop PC Gamer Ultra 2138 AMD FX-Series FX-8320 (3.50GHz) 8GB DDR3 1TB HDD AMD Radeon HD 6670 1GB Windows 8
CyberpowerPC Desktop PC Gamer Ultra 2138 AMD FX-Series FX-8320 (3.50GHz) 8GB DDR3 1TB HDD AMD Radeon HD 6670 1GB Windows 8

Pros: - Easy set up, clean - Great looking case - USB ports in the front and back (like every case nowadays) - Comes with gaming mouse and keyboard - High specs/hardware

Cons: - No USB 3.0 - Does not come with a wireless card

Overall Review: Overall the computer is definitely amazing. I was looking for a high spec'd computer that my mother can use as the general house computer and one that my brother can use for playing games on Steam or anything else. I didn't set it up, but my brother did and he said it was fairly easy (of course you have to have knowledge of putting a computer together). He also said that Windows 8 came pre-installed onto the system. When I went back home to test the computer, there was no lag at all. I don't know how to OC, but running simple household programs such as Windows Office and Adobe, which my mom uses for her work, it ran them without any hitch. Like I said, the system did not come with a wireless card, so we just purchased a wireless USB for her. Running the games from Steam, my brother said they played without any lag or any problems. When I was using the computer, I played LoL at the highest settings for everything and the computer ran it at 30fps. I don't know how the fps affected the gameplay, but nothing was noticeable compared to me playing on my desktop at school (i7-920, 12GB RAM, UD4P-EX58 Motherboard, Nvidia GTS 250 [I think]) that runs the game at 60fps+. I've read other comments that users suggested to upgrade the video card, which I'm assuming will result in better/smoother gameplay and a higher frame rate. Please comment if you would like to know anything else (if I'm able to respond). But like I said, I gave this item 5 stars for the purpose that I had in mind...Home computer for my mom that was up to date running Windows 8 and Office as well as a great entry/mid level gaming platform for my brother.
