These B550 from Asus work for me. With latest BIOS
Pros: Reasonable price. All the features I want and more. Rock solid 24/7/365 but only with latest BIOS. And ECC RAM. Had memory faults with ECC 3200 DDR4 RAM until most recent BIOS and firmware on linux
Cons: As delivered, needed BIOS update to the early April 2021 BIOS version 2201 to avoid annoying, but not disabling nor production-losing problems with USB and ECC memory error false reports with earlier BIOS versions Flaky driver support for the 2.5 Gbit NIC on Linux. What is this 2.5 Gigabit onboard card for? Does anybody actually use 2.5 Gbit wired ethernet? If so, how, and why? Possibly some of the false memory and usb faults were caused by this rtl driver. Dunno, don't care, minor annoyance.
Overall Review: I like the price and performance. With the latest BIOS. The two, and soon to be three, AMD Ryzen 7 and 9 boxes that I use to run 24/7/365 for distributed web projects like ClimatePrediction and WCG and FAH. Never failed with this mobo, and latest BIOS. Glad I bought a third one of this model, and totally expect that later today when I finish connecting the fussy little wires in the totally black box, I have good reason to think this mobo will "just work" (why, why,why are all the mobos, and boxes and parts all trying to be invisibly non-reflective? This blackness is getting annoying to me. I now need my reading glasses and a headlight to just connect the case fans to any recent mobo I've installed . All those other header pins on this, and most other recent mobos are hard to find, hard to connect, because of the total darkness. Annoying. )
problems-board or cpu - not Power Supply
Pros: cheap
Cons: onboard NIC failed in one week rest of onboard stuff failed 3 weeks later maybe the 8350 was too much for it. maybe the 8350 had problems. wasn't the power supply don't know if the board or the cpu was the problem.
Lots of space for cooling air, easy build
Pros: I like the design, it was much easier to work with than old-style cases. Ordered another one. All the screws and such that came with this case also a plus.
Cons: No place for old-style DVD drive
Overall Review: Recommend, sure. Depending on use case (pun - pun) suited my wants really well
Siyang KN95 Protective Face Mask, 25 pcs per Box Free 50 pcs Disposable Face Mask w/ purchase, limited offer
Pros: This 25-pack may or may have been not effective. This reviwer know that this reviewer is alive. But I haven't used any of the facemasks yet So truthfully I don't know
Cons: Everybody knows face masks help prevent transmission of Covid-19 ... So far no way to know What kind face masks help better -- nobody knows
Overall Review: can't recommend unless I die 20 years later than now. I keep using the best I can find and keeping 3 meters distance. I'm obviously still alive. (duh) Use mask, space out -- duh -- keep your distance.
Yup. ECC memory meets specs. runnning fine
Pros: Meets specs, Zero problems installing
Cons: Zero
Overall Review: Just works -- fair price.
Crucial DDR3 1600 ECC works perfectly
Pros: Works perfectly, as expected, on old Phenom II X6 1100T on old ASUS M5A97 mobo. Machine runs 24/7/365 doing climate models from climateprediction.net. Got new memory for the small speed advantage over original non-ECC 1333 memory, and had 1 unexplained system error recently. In another 3-4 years, if there's a memory problem, I'd be totally surprised. The new Crucial DDR3 1600 ECC works perfectly, and any problem would surprise me.
Cons: none
Overall Review: Just happy that ECC mem is still an option on old Phenom II.
