Working well!

EVGA 122-CK-NF68-A1 LGA 775 NVIDIA nForce 680i SLI ATX Intel Motherboard
EVGA 122-CK-NF68-A1 LGA 775 NVIDIA nForce 680i SLI ATX Intel Motherboard

Pros: My build went cleanly. Everything worked first time around. And, it is fast. The system scored 11,600 on 3DMark06 without any overclocking. At startup, the FSB ran at 1066MHz, and the Memory 800Mhz. My Intel 6600 is also at the factor 2.4 GHz. This score is #4 when ranked against similar systems. The best thing about this board is supposed to be the overclocking capacity, so I look forward to seeing how far I can safely push things. I imagine I have a shot at having the #1 ranking among similar systems. I'm not going to go to extremes to cool the system, so maybe not.

Cons: This was my first system to build, and so I read the documentation thoroughly and found a number of errors. The order of the SATA drive connectors are mislabeled. There are 6 SATA connectors. Their order is actually the reverse of what's shown in the manual. I don't think this matters unless you're putting together a RAID system. On p. 19 under the section explaining Auxilliary Power for graphics, the pin voltages are mislabeled. The page shows +1.2V and +5V, when in actuality they are +5V and +12V. The labels made me thing I didn't have a proper connector from my power supply. This caused me some delay. EVGA tech support resolved my questions here. The connector auxiliary power for graphics is just the standard 4-pin connector that all power supplies have. It would be nice if EVGA would post an errata sheet for their manual. It would help many people out and probably reduce their support volume a bit.

Logitech G11 Gaming Keyboard
Logitech G11 Gaming Keyboard

Pros: This keyboard looks good (with the not-too-bright blue back-lit keys) and feels very very good. It's quiet too. Great for late-night gaming.

Cons: None that I can think of. Some might say the size, but it hasn't bothered me at all. I'm not using the keyboard extender that comes with it.

PC Power and Cooling Turbo-Cool 1KW-SR 1000W Continuous @ 50°C EPS12V SLI Certified CrossFire Ready Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: After reading through lots of message boards and seeing people with power supply problems, even with power supplies rated at 850W, I decided to go for the most solid power supply I could find. The price steap, but I'm glad I did it. I just don't have to worry about power at all.

Cons: You need a big case, which I have (Cooler Master Stacker 832). Not only is the box big, but the cables are not modular. That is, they don't plug in. You get ALL the cables, of which there are many, whether you are going to use them or not.

Pros: Beutiful image quality, awesome performance, not troubles. With a 680i motherboard my system ranked #4 against similar systesm with a 3DMark06 score of 11600 without any overclocking at all. All my components are at factor settings.

Cons: None that I can think of.

GRRREAT!! for music and gaming

bluegears b-Enspirer 7.1 Channels 24-bit 192KHz PCI Interface Sound Card
bluegears b-Enspirer 7.1 Channels 24-bit 192KHz PCI Interface Sound Card

Pros: Easy installation. Nice software. Excellent sound. I was worried initially that this card would not do well for gaming compared to other cards, given then it doesn't support EAX 3.0, 4.0, and 5.0, as these have not been released by Creative. However, it does support EAX 1.0 and 2.0. In game play, I am getting very nice 3D audio queueing. Given that it is less than half the cost, sounds great, and has practically trouble free installation, this card is prefect for anyone looking for an alternative.

Cons: None.

Excellent Sound for the $

Logitech Z-5500 505 Watts 5.1 Digital Speaker System
Logitech Z-5500 505 Watts 5.1 Digital Speaker System

Pros: The sound is very good. Excellent when you consider the cost. Controls are nice as well. I can quickly change settings using the remote control back and forth from what I use for gaming and listing to music.

Cons: I had only one issue, and it is the reason I'm rating this product at a 4 instead of a 5. The volume knob on the control panel is a bit fragile; could be designed better probably. The first one I received had the control knob broken off, despite no signs of mishandling on the packaging. Newegg was great though, and quickly sent a replacement. They also paid return shipping, which would have been expensive for me with such a large heavy package. THANKS NEWEGG!!! The second unit got to me all in one piece. I've been enjoying it since.
