Pros: - Ergonomic at least for me
- Sturdy, I've worn out very few of these in the past. Started with the white ones in the 90s when AT was a thing, have had maybe 3 in all of those years. Hopefully this one lasts as well.
Cons: Nothing that I can think of other than being a wired keyboard (which means no changing batteries)
Overall Review: Good stuff
Pros: Fits like a glove, holds all accessories. Perfect at the perfect price!
Overall Review: Buy this one if you have a Nebula Mars projector!
Pros: They work great on MOST supermicro chassis
Cons: Simply don't fit older SC-846 chassis... I have 3 of these in my rack, adding a 4th and these rails are too narrow to fit onto the tabs even though their support site says these are the correct rails.
I've since learned that there are two versions. Up until now, I was a major fan of supermicro... that's changed. Why modify rail mounting and not maintain backward compatibilty !?!?!?!
I've since learned that there is a wider version of these, which are price-gouged: MCP-290-00001-00. Tried ordering them from three suppliers to find out they're back-ordered. However, those charging > $150.00 seem to have plenty available. Can't even get them via supermicro e-store.
Thanks for the headache and empty wallet, supermicro!
Pros: High quality SuperMicro parts at a great price!
Overall Review: Newegg is, as always, awesome!
Pros: Much quieter than the 900w supplies in my 846 case and more energy efficient
Overall Review: what are you waiting for? swap them out today!
Pros: No drama, just plugs in and works. Solid build quality, not flimsy junk
Overall Review: N/A
Pros: Using this guy to power a backplane, it is actually 2x2. Solid quality product.
Pros: Needed to extend some fan cables and have had good luck with StarTech labeled products in the past.
This extension cable is no exception, does the job and does it well. Solid ends/crimps and it just works.
Overall Review: Newegg will-call is awesome!
Pros: This, in my opinion, is the best fan hub available under $20.00. I've used them in multiple NAS builds with mini-ITX and micro-ATX boards.
Pros: Able to use on sas controller with SATA ports on Supermicro board to connect a SAS expander
Cons: None that I'm aware of
Overall Review: I wish they were round, but ultimately it doesn't matter
Pros: Works very well, even with PLEX media server on Linux using provided kernel/modules. Save yourself some processing power and run your PVR headless (i.e. no fancy UI) with a server distribution.
Cons: None that I can think of
Pros: These are great enclosures when they work. The older ones have lasted forever. During a recent freenas build (3x of these backplanes purchased mid-January 2016), I opted to install these tried-and-tested units for my 4th NAS and have discovered that the quality isn't what it once was. It took a month or two to accumulate parts and drives, by which time the newegg exchange timeline had apparently lapsed.
One of the units was defective immediately out of the box with a SATA port not working on the backplane but drive worked when plugged directly into sata cable, while three others (2 new, one old) worked flawlessly. After three weeks of use, the defective unit has dropped several activity and power LEDs and lost two more bays. The backplane board is definitely defective.
I'm now feeling sketchy about the other two new ones, while I'm completely confident that the older hardware is going to continue to work.
Long story short, when you're dealing with nearly a hundred TB of your own personal data, code, security footage, digital media files, photos, etc. You don't want to take chances.
My suggestion would be to look elsewhere until the quality issues are addressed or this item is replaced with a design that hasn't been cheapened to the point of being a hit-and-miss.
Updating from 1 to 4 stars. Would have been 5 had I not experienced issues.
I've replaced all of those mentioned above with units ordered at different times from newegg. All of the replacements seem to be holding up. I did identify the issue with one of the dead bays as a problem with the power switch and was able to fix it by disassembling and reassembling the unit. All of them have bad LED's which the new units are not exhibiting.
Cons: Hit and miss quality now, when this used to be a rock-solid backplane. The trays are still as sturdy as they have ever been, but sata bays tend to just not work and fail quickly over a short period of time.
I must've received multiple units from a bad batch/lot, replacement units (not under warranty) have performed exactly like previous units I described in the review.
Overall Review: I'm not sure if this is a global trend with istar, but I certainly hope not. I'll be contacting them about an RMA, but not until after I receive a replacement from newegg that I'll have to pay for out-of-pocket.
I would and have continued to buy iStar products. I just now make sure I test everything as soon as it is received.
Pros: Solid metal base, easy assembly, sturdy plastic arms, nice upholstery.
Cons: For the price, this is an excellent product. If you're looking for heavy-duty, look elsewhere... however, if you're looking for a sturdy chair that will last for years, buy this one.
Overall Review: I'd recommend this chair to anyone like myself who is taller (and thus heavier) than the average person.
Pros: Does exactly what an unmanaged switch is supposed to do. Zero downtime for over a year.
Pros: Bought for a freenas build, couldn't be more satisfied. No errors with supermicro board 24x7 for over 1 year.
Pros: I have two of these running isolated networks in my home. I purchased the second after experiencing a nearly a year of trouble-free use with the first.
Cons: No uplink port? Not a huge pain since mine aren't stacked.
Overall Review: Buy this one!
Pros: Lots of features
Good amount of internal storage
External SD slot
Cons: Stock ROM isn't great, installed new launcher and that takes care of it.
Only 2GB of RAM, which is where corners were cut to keep price low.
Speaker isn't so awesome, but it works.
Bluetooth is a little picky, but if you are persistent you will get it set up.
Overall Review: I'd recommend this to anyone. I destroy phones. So, after breaking my galaxy note, replacing with a G4 and breaking it, then replacing with an s7 edge and breaking it, I bought this. Definitely as responsive as Note 3/4, similar screen size.
Pros: Ordered for my daughter who is both a barbie addict and a hunger games lover.
Cons: price could be lower, but that isn't a product con.
Overall Review: arrived quickly and in great shape, packaging undamaged.
Pros: Standard set of SIM adapters with an eject tool
Overall Review: Shipped extremely quickly
Pros: This was exactly what I expected it to be. A brand new unlocked UK LG G4.
Simply insert SIM and set up your APN and you're good to go with LTE speeds. This was a great replacement for my Samsung 900A Note 3, which was locked out of the box and contained a lot of carrier bloatware.
The phone comes with quality headphones, a leather back, and a silver painted back.
Cases for the US model fit perfectly.
Cons: It takes a little thought to get some features to work, since the regions in the firmware are European (and Australian) and Asian, which conflicts with US google account.
This is by no means the seller's fault; it is due to the phone manufacturer trying to lock down functionality (like the ability to download themes) to the correct regions instead of just letting things be globally available.
Seller got some bad reviews, I just wanted to reassure anyone sitting on the fence that you are getting exactly what is described, nothing more and definitely nothing less.
Overall Review: This is a great device, works well on us carrier networks and contains next to no bloatware.
The only concern is the warranty length as the device was never intended for sale in the US. I see no reason why the device should not last, but if it doesn't then you're on your own.
At least the reseller is covering the first 30 days in order to ensure that their products are free of manufacturer defects.
Update 11/2016: It seems all of these phones contained a defect in the mainboard that was unknown during the first 1-2 years of production. The seller may or may not be aware of it, but the phones last only 6-12 months before failing to boot completely. This is an LG issue, not a seller issue.
Pros: I was shocked by the awesome quality of a 42u startech 4-post rack so I chose these shelves to install in it. When they arrived, I opened them to see the same quality of goods. Don't waste your money on another brand, these will do just fine and save you money at the same time.
Cons: No hardware at all included with any of mine. Not worth an egg as cage nuts and screws are easy to get if you don't already have them... but still something you should plan for.
Overall Review: Pick up some hardware locally or from NewEgg when you order these. You don't necessarily need cage nuts as these are stationary and once you get them in you probably aren't going to move them. You may be one of the lucky few that wins the hardware lottery, but don't count on it. LOL
NewEgg, as usual, provided awesome wicked-fast shipping.
Pros: You can absolutely never go wrong with Tripp Lite. This is no exception to that statement. Solid construction, excellent price, and it just works. Looking forward to getting everything in the test rack hooked up to it!
Cons: Zero, Tripp Lite and NewEgg are both incredible.
Overall Review: Long cable is great for situations where your outlet or UPS is located several racks/cabinets to the left or right!
Pros: Seller shipped extremely quickly. I'll be ordering from them again. The 2" resi gard was perfect for my application (home run of cables to patch panel(s) through a boxed plenum in basement that had sharp edges which would have damaged Cat6 and RG6 cable. This stuff is solid and much more affordable than split loom at this size.
Cons: Based on other reviews, I just pulled the cord out of the tubing. It is worthless and pulls away from one end as you uncoil the tubing anyway, making it a worthless obstruction while fishing. Other than that, everything was perfect!
Overall Review: Seller got some bad reviews, but that was not my experience. I received item before expected delivery date and literally the same day tracking posted to newegg.
Pros: Sturdy clamps for Resi Gard raceway
Overall Review: Beach Audio is excellent as usual.
Pros: 2 amp usb ports
power cord can rotate 90 degrees (plugs in either way)
zero configuration required, but can be managed by web interface
small for having integrated power supply
tons of mounting options via the locking bracket included
Overall Review: Perfect for concealment in our omnimount floating wall shelf, allowed us to eliminate all of the ethernet cables running from equipment to original switch. As a bonus, I saw improved speeds over our old gigabit switch!
