Western Digital Raptor WD1500ADFD 150GB 10000 RPM 16MB Cache SATA 1.5Gb/s 3.5" Hard Drive Bare Drive

Pros: Raid 0 Raptors = FAST, FAST, FAST

Cons: High price and noise

Overall Review: I've been using 10,00 RPM drives for 5 years now as my os drive and still can't find anything better. Intel E6750 3.5GHz (500 x 7), Asus P5E3, 2GB Crucial DDR3 1600, 2 raptors (Raid 0), 8800GTS (G92), Sound Blaster x-fi, Antec P190

Good HTPC Case

Pros: Good HTPC case. Right size and looks great.

Cons: Hard drive cage is in bad place. Used OCZ 400W power supply and could not get the SATA data and power connectors on the drive. The PSU was too close. Had to mod the cage with Dremel tool to re-orient drive.

Overall Review: If your willing to do a little work this can be a great HTPC case. Oh yea the front display panel looks cool to also.

Crucial Ballistix 4GB (2 x 2GB) DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model BL2KIT25664AA804
Crucial Ballistix 4GB (2 x 2GB) DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model BL2KIT25664AA804

Pros: Overclocks to 527MHz 2.16V 5-5-5-15 on Asus Rampage Formula board. Have 4 sticks installed (4x2GB) for 8GB total. Got my E8400 to 3.95GHz.

Cons: Little pricey but not bad considering the quality

Overall Review: If you need fast DDR2 to overclock your CPU this is the stuff to get.

Over Clocks Like a Champ

BFG Tech GeForce 8800GTS (G92) 512MB GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 SLI Support Graphics Card BFGE88512GTSE
BFG Tech GeForce 8800GTS (G92) 512MB GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 SLI Support Graphics Card BFGE88512GTSE

Pros: Overclocks to 800MHz gpu and 1050MHz memory with fan at 50%. Scores over 13600 consistently in 3Dmark06.

Cons: Fan is loud. Will have to find a good after market cooler but the great thing is there are plenty available for the 8800's.

Excellent SLI setup

XFX GeForce 7900GT 256MB GDDR3 PCI Express x16 SLI Support Graphics Card PV-T71G-UCE7
XFX GeForce 7900GT 256MB GDDR3 PCI Express x16 SLI Support Graphics Card PV-T71G-UCE7

Pros: Bought a pair to SLI. Scored just over 11000 in 3dmark05 with cards overclocked to 580/1550. Fans are loud so I replaced them with aftermarket setup. Things are quiet and look great in my case.

Cons: Price. Could almost get a 7950 for same cost.

Finally got an AMD

AMD Athlon 64 3700+ - Athlon 64 San Diego Single-Core 2.2 GHz Socket 939 Processor - ADA3700BNBOX
AMD Athlon 64 3700+ - Athlon 64 San Diego Single-Core 2.2 GHz Socket 939 Processor - ADA3700BNBOX

Comments: This thing is fast. Upgraded from a p4 3.2c and the difference is noticeable. OC'd to 2.7 Ghz with stock voltage (246 x 11). Runs a little hot 41c but under load never gets above 50c. Thing is faster than FX-55 for less than half the cost. This is the one to get just don't forget the high quality ram to go with it. Orded over weekend and got it on Tuesday. Can't belive it took me this long to switch to AMD.
