Excellent receiver so far

Yamaha RX-A2A AVENTAGE 7.2-Channel AV Receiver - 8K and 4K/120 HDMI, eARC, Dolby Atmos, DTS:X, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, MusicCast - Black
Yamaha RX-A2A AVENTAGE 7.2-Channel AV Receiver - 8K and 4K/120 HDMI, eARC, Dolby Atmos, DTS:X, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, MusicCast - Black

Pros: I've only had it for a few weeks but i like it so far. Great sound. I like the clean front panel with 2 knob and 1 push button. The rest are touch panel style interface. I have to get use to the remote buttons feel. They are flush and sealed so you don't have to worry too much about spills getting inside. The only opening is the select switch at the top for zone 2. The remote is also big and thin with some weight to it. I only have a pair of MartinLogan Motion 10 tower speaker connected right now and they sound really good. I'm thinking about getting the Klipsch Reference Cinema Dolby Atmos 5.1.4 System so I can check out the Dolby Atmos feature. For those wondering if this receiver has the HDMI 2.1 circuit board for 4K/120Hz, it does. I confirmed it today. I signed up on Yamaha's site with my serial# to get updated HDMI 2.1 news and they sent me an email stating that my receiver already had the new HDMI 2.1 circuit board already installed. At least now I don't have to worry about upgrading my receiver for the next 5 years. I still have a lot of features to check out so I will do another update review later.

Cons: Only con so far is that the remote is not backlit. It does take a few seconds for the amp section to power on after you push the power button on.

Overall Review: I purchased this receiver back in Aug 2022. One of the reasons I made the buy was because it comes with a factory 3 year warranty. They also have a promotion going on right now on this receiver and other Aventage models giving you an additional 2 year factory warranty. So that's a 5 year factory warranty. My Onkyo TX-NR818 that this receiver replaced only had a 2 year warranty and it broke in year 3. Thankfully that failure was a factory defect and it was repaired under a factory recall but it broke again with a different failure ( I believe it's a power on issue) 6 months later. A 5 year warranty would've been nice back then.

Overall Review: I had two 3.5 inch drives in it so I could access old photos, movies and music. It worked great for about a week and after another week of not accessing them, they became corrupt. It tells me to format the drives before I can use them. That's 4 TBs of storage data lost until I can find a program to recover it. Basically don't leave drives plugged in for extended periods of time.

Neo memory.

G.SKILL Trident Z Neo (For AMD Ryzen) Series 32GB (2 x 16GB) 288-Pin RGB PC RAM DDR4 3600 (PC4 28800) Desktop Memory Model F4-3600C16D-32GTZNC

Pros: The computer detected both sticks of memory showing 32GB of RAM.

Cons: One stick's LED's was DOA. I got a RMA from GSkill to return them for replacement.

Overall Review: Other than the bad leds, they work fine.
