Pros: Prior experience with vendor. I have used G.Skill RAMs in a number of prior builds with no issues.

Overall Review: I have this set running in with a Ryzen 1900X (8 cores, 3.8 MHz) with the memory interface overclocked to DDR4 3200, running Centos 7 for thee months. If works flawlessly. Apart from the RAM, the system has two RAID arrays, one for the OS and one for databases. Significantly increasing the OS disk buffer size (realistic with this huge amount of memory) results in great performance without the reliability problems of high-performance drives or SSDs. I'd buy another one without hesitation.

Pros: Performance was outstanding for a short time. Bought it for that reason, in particular using the application Mathematica. Have had good experience with prior HP products.

Cons: Failed installing Windows update: operating system not available. SSD failure confirmed with diagnostics. Unfortunately, this occurred AFTER I had installed $$$ of software for a single machine. For a laptop in this price range, this is completely unacceptable. I bought this for WORK, not to play games on. The time I've spent fooling around with it is greater than the $$$ of software that I will lose. I only ordered a replacement because I don't know what else to consider and I need the machine. Even if it works, I will waste hours installing software again. And I will still have lingering doubts about reliability.

Overall Review: Not recommended unless you are willing to invest burn-in time before installing apps. I am still not sure if a replacement was a good idea. We shall see.. Update 9/12/2017 The replacement is failing as well. I have had two -No Operating System Found- failures. It has managed to boot again after getting the serial number from the BIOS (good luck trying to read it on the machine) and at the same time survive a windows update. The handwriting is on the wall. At least I have an opportunity to back up a drive image. I have a hard time believing that I am simply unlucky. I have bought HP laptops for decades. I have bought them for my childen in college. I have recommended them to everyone. No more. If I could reduce the ratring to zero stars, I would.

Pros: Price, Availablity

Cons: Mounting. This cooler is best mounted with the motherboard removed from the case. Other coolers I have use a base mount that the cooler attaches to. This cooler is more difficult to install and relies on tension in its mounting ears, where others use springs, to effect equally distribtued mounting force. The fan is really loud on start up. No CFM specification is available to be sure of a more quiet recplacment.

Overall Review: I would not purchase this again. There are better options close to the price.

Cons: The cables are not a snazzy as higher-priced units. At the same time, they occupy less space.

Overall Review: I would recommend this unit based on the observations above.

Pros: I needed a small case for an ATX board, with a SATA HD and SATA SSD. There were some even smaller cases, but their layout, in particular power supply positioning, was not desirable. The case has room for three front fans that can maintain positive pressure. The lower section of the case is occupied by the power supply and drive cage. If three fans are installed in the front, the bottom fan causes the drive cage to be mounted further to the back. In this case a 160mm power supply (and its cables) can be accoomdated. There are additional SSD mounting points. The drive cage gets a fan breeze.

Cons: The front grille is not easily removable. The front section, with grille comes off as a unit, with plastic split buttons. I can then be vacuumed on both sides without removal.

Overall Review: I would recommend this case as by far the best alternative for its size.

Pros: Interesting mesh sides, Clean looks, Includes internal power supply cable for routing to back.

Cons: Removal of either side panel involves screws from the bottom as well as back. Power Supply switch can only be accessed from the top, using a stick.

Overall Review: Two bottom fan locations have outer mesh filters. Two top fan locations also have outer mesh filters. One rear fan location has no filter. To me this implies intake fans top and bottom, with exhaust through the back and mesh sides, differing from cases that use top fans for exhaust.
