The connection cable IS short

Kingston FCR-HS219/1 19-in-1 USB 2.0 Card Reader
Kingston FCR-HS219/1 19-in-1 USB 2.0 Card Reader

Pros: Fast speed, solid construction

Cons: Short cable, see below

Overall Review: Since there is constant debating in the reviews about whether the cable is short - here is the fact. The cable installed on the card reader is 1.5 inches, this is idea for travel and being used on a laptop. The extension cable shown in the picture is 1.8 feet - this is absolutely not long enough for a desktop computer when connecting to a USB port on the back panel. Everything is quantized - give me a thumb of helpfulness to help others.

Most Critical Review

Reasonable speaker for old fashioned iPod

Logitech mm32 Black Portable Speakers For iPod Model 970218-2403
Logitech mm32 Black Portable Speakers For iPod Model 970218-2403

Pros: Competitive price Support old iPod portable

Cons: No charging function Poor sound quality

Overall Review: I purchased this speaker as a filler to quality logitech rebate. So this thing comes almost free for me, that's why it got 3 stars. The only interface of this speaker with iPod is the 3.5mm audio connector. There is NO flat connector with ipod. iPod is installed on this stuff by "physical clamp". They claim you could use this to charge ipod by connecting your own charging cable and power adapter from the bottom of the speaker, where there locates a flat hole (this is fraud if you sue newegg for the description). This thing works well with my iPod photo, however, it does not work for any generation of ipod touch (again this is another chance to sue newegg) because there is not hole to connect the 3.5mm connector from the bottom. It works for iphone since the connecting hole of iphone is on the top.

Economic High Performance memory that cost more in total

Patriot Viper Steel 16GB (2 x 8GB) 288-Pin PC RAM DDR4 4400 (PC4 35200) Desktop Memory Model PVS416G440C9K
Patriot Viper Steel 16GB (2 x 8GB) 288-Pin PC RAM DDR4 4400 (PC4 35200) Desktop Memory Model PVS416G440C9K

Pros: Price: DDR4 4400 at 25%+ less than competitors Dual XMP profile: for 1.45v and 1.35v

Cons: Very poor compatibility - merely appear in any mother board QVL Hot - at 1.35v it runs very hot.

Overall Review: This is "the" economic high performance memory. Compatibility appears in a wired pattern, and let me illustrate with an example. On Gigabyte Z390 ITX Pro Wifi: 1) If I want to get into BIOS during post, I can only use the outer bank (ATX power cable size). Using both band or inner band would stuck after I press [del] without entering BIOS. 2) I am able to get into windows with both bands and dual banks, just not bios. It did not perform at 4400 (load xmp or manual) on three motherboard I have tested - the Gigabyte Z390i, Asus X570i, and Asus Crosshair VIII Hero Wifi. 1.45-1.5v did not help - dedicated memory cooling fan didi not help. Asus mobo are quire tolerant on memories even they are not on QVL. At 1.35v I am able to run 4266 at a tighter timing (reduce CAS by one compared to XMP). This is a plugs. It runs very hot and I added a small fan to blow through the RAM tunnel (otherwise it went 54C beyond room temperature, 80C in my case). I returned the kit to newegg at the end - be sure to have a known compatible motherboard - you want to get into BIOS without uninstall a bank.

Fast, rugged, and bulky

LaCie XtremKey 16GB All-Terrain USB 2.0 Flash Drive 131075
LaCie XtremKey 16GB All-Terrain USB 2.0 Flash Drive 131075

Pros: Since there's no review so far, I volunteer the first. I invested on this drive for two reasons: first, it's fast; second, it's rugged. I bought the 16GB version. It reads really fast. 25-30MBps across all platforms. I am mainly a windows user; I manage a cluster of linux at school; and I occassionally do some maintainous on my wife's Mac. Some drives are faster than this when using NTFS partition, but NTFS is read only on most macs and linux. EX-FAT partition is a real mobile partition. It writes fine, slightly under 15MBps.

Cons: It's very sturdy, and it's very very bulky. 2mm shell makes it thick, I would compromised to 1mm shell and get it smaller.

Overall Review: The drive can be detached from shell, which connects to my key chain. This reduce the load of the USB port on my machine since the drive is plugged in only itself. Good design.

A heavy, power consuming hard drive of large capacity

Western Digital WD Green WD20EADS 2TB 32MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive Bare Drive
Western Digital WD Green WD20EADS 2TB 32MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive Bare Drive

Pros: Huge capacity, quiet, good performance for data.

Cons: It is heavy - much heavier than the 1TB green - like an iron block. It is power consuming, compared with the 1TB one, which operates at 3-4.5W, this one operates at 10W. This will be some thing on your electricity bill if you have multiple disks on your 24-7 running environment.

Overall Review: The initialization of this disk is a bit different than those 1TB ones - in windows, one has to initialize it by manual partitioning and regular formatting, takes a few hours to do so - not like those 1TB or less drive, for which one could do a quite format and takes less than 1 minute to ready.

Compatible for low voltage

CORSAIR XMS2 2GB (2 x 1GB) DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model TWIN2X2048-6400C4DHX
CORSAIR XMS2 2GB (2 x 1GB) DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model TWIN2X2048-6400C4DHX

Pros: High performance memory, does its CAS at indicated voltage. At 1.8V on a Dell E520/E521 machine, it works well. 2.1V is not required for the memory to function. It is only required for the memory to function at designated CAS. If this info helps you, give me a thumb to help other dell (HP, Lenovo, as long as it is 1.8V+) memory seekers.

Cons: For five bucks after rebate, there is nothing to complain.
