Seagate Constellation.2 ST9500620SS 500GB 7200 RPM 64MB Cache SAS 6Gb/s 2.5" Internal Enterprise-class Hard Drive Bare Drive

Pros: They gave me a New egg credit for the price of the drive.

Cons: Purchased this drive new, it failed, looked at the manufacture date, it was Aug 2013.. Apparently they send me a drive that had been returned.

Caveat Emptor!

Ordered $500 GTX 950 video card via NewEgg through this 3rd party vendor. A week later, we received a random package from "another online retailer" I cannot name as NewEgg seems to be scared of a competitor being named here (starts with an A): the package had an obviously used GTX 950 that was sent as a “gift”. Marked as “Used, like new” right on the label. Baffled, we contacted "the other retailer" and they confirmed it went to the right place, but could not tell us much else as it was a gift purchase. We set the ‘gift’ aside to deal with later and waited for the card. When the card didn’t arrive after 9 business days, we contacted Joymall. They responded the next day and provided me the tracking #, which I eventually tracked down as the used ‘gift’ from "the other retailer". I can only guess that they could not fulfill the order for the video card and purchased a used one from the other retailer for $189 and sent it to us as a ‘gift’. I know how much they paid as the order # from the other retailer was right there on the gift receipt. Easy to look up. Not sure if they expected us to accept this as a new video card or what. Needless to say, I am not putting some random, used video card in my client's system. Newegg's initial chat response was "That is a third party vendor, call this number." Kind of a useless response, but whatever. The number led to a recording from someone I could barely understand telling me to leave a tracking number on the voicemail and they would call me back. Super sketchy. Decided there is no need for me to waste my time on this and called NewEgg. They contacted the vendor and got the ball rolling on the return. I did not even bother to ask the vendor why they sent me a used card, didn't see the point in wasting still more time with them. After a lot of chatting with NewEgg and emailing the vendor, we got a prepaid label and returned the item back to the "other retailer's" warehouse, and then got our money back from Joymall. Took about a month to get the refund all said and done. I'm not going to scream out in all caps "scammers!" or "tried to rip me off!", but if you are going to use this vendor, proceed with extreme caution and check your item VERY carefully when it arrives.
