Simple and effective

Pros: - Unmanaged, so you don't have to do any setup. Just plug and play. - Fast. I haven't tested gigabit speeds, but the cat5 cables in my house are now the speed bottleneck.
Cons: - It uses a typical power adapter that takes up 2 outlet spots on a power strip. - POE would have been a welcome addition.
Overall Review: - Power saving mode is nice, but can delay network connections. My computer boots in 4 seconds and takes another 4 or 5 seconds to attain a network connection over the switch. However, if another device is still running through the switch my computer connects instantly. This isn't a problem 99% of the time, but occasionally Steam will start up before the network connection has been established and complains about the lack of internet.
Good cable

Pros: -Very sturdy -Good quality
Cons: -Not HDMI 2.0, so some TVs in combination with some devices will still cause flickering.
