Great Monitor - Well Worth the Money

NEC Display MultiSync EA274WMi-BK Black 27" WQHD Widescreen IPS Panel, LED Backlight LCD Monitor 350cd/m2, DisplayPort, USB hub, Height Adjust, Pivot, Tilt & Swivel, Speakers
NEC Display MultiSync EA274WMi-BK Black 27" WQHD Widescreen IPS Panel, LED Backlight LCD Monitor 350cd/m2, DisplayPort, USB hub, Height Adjust, Pivot, Tilt & Swivel, Speakers

Pros: This monitor was pricey, but I find it well worth the money. First, aesthetics are important to me and this monitor is not as ugly as most -- it has a sleek, thin frame and the stand is not as ugly and hogging of desk real estate as some. The USB ports on the monitor are handy as I have an older computer with few ports and it is nice to be able to plug peripherals such as iPods right into the monitor. The ergonomics are good on the monitor -- you can adjust it every which way. The picture is excellent -- and probably would be even better if I replaced my computer with its ancient video card. I find a 27 inch monitor to be the sweet spot for a home office -- not too big and not too small. I can blow up word processing and PDF documents to sufficient size that I can read them quickly without straining my aging eyes. Finally, although I bought this for a home office and business use, I find that I'm really enjoying streaming movies on it. I bypassed the built-in speakers and bought good external speakers and I feel like I have a little mini-theater in my home office.

Cons: None that I can think of.

Hand Feed Tray is Horrible - Do Not Buy

HP LaserJet P3005dn Q7815A Up to 35 ppm Monochrome Ethernet (RJ-45) / USB Laser Printer
HP LaserJet P3005dn Q7815A Up to 35 ppm Monochrome Ethernet (RJ-45) / USB Laser Printer

Pros: None

Cons: Product being returned. Beware. The hand feed tray on this printer is different than on any other HP printer I have ever seen. Basically, the hand feed tray only opens a tiny bit, so it is very awkward to use it. I am used to sitting at my desk and leaning over and sticking an envelope or a label or piece of special paper or the like in the hand feed tray. You can't do it on this printer - the hand feed tray is at too awkward an angle. Every single thing you want to put in the hand feed tray, you have to get up from chair and stand over the printer in order to hand feed it. Very time efficient. I can't imagine what idiot designed this printer or why anyone would want to buy it. New Egg should consider if they should even be selling it. I'm sorry I wasted my time and money.

Will not connect to older computer - poor customer service from Samsung

SAMSUNG Series 9 S27B970D High Gloss Black/Brushed Aluminum 27" WQHD Height Adjustable HDMI PLS Panel Widescreen LED-Backlit LCD Monitor 285 cd/m2 1000:1 Static w/Speakers
SAMSUNG Series 9 S27B970D High Gloss Black/Brushed Aluminum 27" WQHD Height Adjustable HDMI PLS Panel Widescreen LED-Backlit LCD Monitor 285 cd/m2 1000:1 Static w/Speakers

Pros: None that I can discern.

Cons: I was unable to connect this monitor to my five year old PC because the computer only has a VGA port and this monitor will not work with a VGA connection. I contacted Samsung but four different representatives were unable to help me. One representative said i could try a DVI to VGA adapter, but Samsung did not make them and he had no idea if that would work. From my own cursory research, it seems that those adapters are made to use newer computers with older monitors, not the other way around. I found it unbelievable that Samsung is selling a $1,000 monitor, but no one at the company could tell me whether or not it was possible to adapt the monitor to work with a VGA connection on a PC. Additionally, I bought this monitor because I thought it look sleek and modern in the picture and it is for a home office, so I didn't want ugly plastic. However, the monitor isn't a nice in person as in the picture and the stand picks up a lot of fingerprints.

Overall Review: Make sure you have a DVI connector on your computer.
