Awesome hard drives
Pros: Inexpensive at the moment, 5 year warranty, 16 MB buffer, no DOAs so far.
Cons: You've got to remember to remove the little jumper to achieve SATA 3.0 speeds. Other than that, nothing at all.
Overall Review: I have four of these right now in a RAID 5 array using md on Slackware Linux, boy are these babies fast. Going to order another two or four for a storage array.
Too good to be true...
Pros: It has a wealth of BIOS options, enough USB connectors, cables, etc. It would seem like it has potential.
Cons: Tried with 4 different Linux distributions (2.6, recent kernels), couldn't get the board to work, I thought it just might be something incompatible. Tried with Windows XP, can't get it to boot off of any SATA drive, IDE drive = random reboots, overall glitchy. Silicon Image RAID controller doesn't work. Bad board??
Overall Review: I thought it would be the perfect board for a new Linux workstation/server combined with an Opteron 170. Going to RMA right now and hope that I just got a bad apple.
Great fans!!
Pros: I have six of these fans so far, in everything from dual core Opteron systems to an old PII actively cooled system. Temps have dropped at least 5C in every system.
Cons: A little noisy, but by all means acceptable still.
Overall Review: Buying more since the price dropped.
Good budget board
Pros: Onboard video and sound, both are fairly good. No fans to die on the board, cheap, works good.
Cons: Included software, don't use it, it's worthless. Also don't update the BIOS, ESPECIALLY with the Windows updater. My board seem to die after updating the BIOS, only an old 256 MB stick of memory would work in the third slot, sound went dead, PATA didn't work, BIOS features and OC stuff was crippled. Auto overclock stuff seems to overvolt the CPU and memory way too much (0.2-0.45 v).
Overall Review: Luckly got it booted with the old memory stick and was able to restore the old BIOS. Manual overclock pwns. Runs cool. Onboard reset switch. Overall good budget board, would buy again.
Good deal.
Pros: Moves a decent amount of air for the price. Comes with fan screws!!!
Cons: Could have a male/female molex connector so they can be linked, but if you're like me a little solder and some heat-shrink tubing will solve the linking problem.
Overall Review: Bought 10 on the volume discount (dirt cheap & free shipping)...Was wondering what I'd do with 10 fans. Already used all but two up and ordering more. Never hurts to have extras around and for this price you can't beat it.
Beautiful...
Pros: This monitor is beautiful...Comes with analog and digital inputs, both analog and digital cords, and a patch cord for the built in speakers. I was truely amazed to find _NO_ dead pixels... I left it on overnight to be sure, and nothing... Brightness and contrast are excellent also.
Cons: Speakers aren't the greatest, but they work for just regular OS sounds. Also, Newegg just slapped a UPS label on the box, didn't bother to tape it up or anything (Standard retail box), anyone could have just opened it and taken something, but all was well.
Overall Review: I wish I had bought two of them. I have had no issues with the stand or it being top heavy like others have stated. Only 16.2 million colors, I can tell a difference between it and my hp laptop display, but the brightness of this lcd seals the deal. Get it, you won't regret it.
