Best Newegg Product Ever!

Intel Metallic Blue BunnyPeople Keytag
Intel Metallic Blue BunnyPeople Keytag

Pros: This came bundled (for free) with the purchase of a Q9550. However, this is hands down better than the CPU itself. In fact, this is quite possibly the best product ever designed.

Cons: How can this product have any negatives?! Ignore any review with less than a 5 egg rating!

Overall Review: Put this sucker on your keytag and take note of all the stares you'll get when people see it in public. Know that every one of those stares is due to the envy you've sparked by flashing your little bundle of blue bunny. Those people are thinking how awesome you look with your new bling. Really! Flaunt this and watch the girls flock to you!

Adequate I suppose

Microsoft Windows Vista Ultimate SP1
Microsoft Windows Vista Ultimate SP1

Pros: I was forced to rebuild my computer thanks to my old XP rig dying. I purchased the retail version of SP1 because I wanted my OS to recognize 4GB's of RAM and above and it included both the 32 & 64-bit versions. Plus, if you like to tinker with your computer and replace components every now and then, you won't have to call Microsoft every second to explain yourself to them. The operating system has a nice look to it and the translucent Aero windows appear nice, although remember that all that eye-candy takes up resources. DirectX 10.

Cons: If you use Checkpoint VPN software to connect to work from home, you cannot use the 64-bit install currently. This is not a problem with Vista, but be aware of this and don't install the 64-bit version first only to find this out and have to reinstall the 32-bit version later! Fortunately the retail version comes with both versions and I had no problem activating the 32-bit version despite having activated the 64-bit version the night before. You probably will come across other programs that do not work on 64-bit Vista yet so take note that the extra money you spend on the retail version with both versions (32 & 64) may end up saving you a lot of hassle. If you like the look of "Windows Classic", Vista does a poor job of replicating it. Vista's version of classic does not compare to XP and looks awful. I was quite dismayed by how unclassic Vista could look and ended up deciding not to use it, despite trying all the settings and spending hours Googling how to make it look better

Overall Review: It's annoying having Windows ask you for 1,000 confirmations every time you want to use a program or browse a folder. Vista is a resource hog and I have not noticed a remarkable improvement in speed over my old XP rig for basic functions, bootup time, and general document and utility purposes. Obviously transferring files and games is now faster with the better rig (and graphics card). For comparison's sake, my old rig running XP was a Pentium 4 3.0C (with 4GB Corsair XMS memory, 500GB WD HD, Asus P4C800E-Deluxe, 9800XT). I'm currently running Vista on the following setup: Q9550 Intel Quad Core CPU, EVGA 790i Ultra SLI motherboard, 4 GB Corsair XMS (1600), 300GB Velociraptor, NVidia Geforce 260GTX, PC Power & Cooling 750W PSU, Thermaltake Armor 8003.

Excellent mouse pad

Razer RZ81-00030101-B2M1 eXactMat and eXactRest Bundle - Mouse Pad and Wrist Rest
Razer RZ81-00030101-B2M1 eXactMat and eXactRest Bundle - Mouse Pad and Wrist Rest

Pros: This mouse pad is solidly constructed and will not move about on your desk. I've found that the dimensions are perfect. It is big enough so that you will not find yourself "running out of room" while moving the mouse. I will not elaborate on how well both sides of the pad work as I have only owned it over a week now, but I will say that my mice (MX700 and Razer Deathadder) glide over them as though they were slippery icy surfaces. The pad is comfortable

Cons: The Razer decal on the pad has mostly crumbled apart after less than a week of use. Not a huge problem, but you wonder why they even put it on there when it just comes right off under the pressure of your wrist. The cool Razer logo will be gone completely in no time, but I suppose a solid black wrist rest won't look bad. Still, poor design.

Overall Review: The cost for this pad is worth it. I waited for a sale on Newegg before I bought it, so I'd recommend those of you interested in this do the same. Otherwise, if you need a pad right now, I wouldn't hesitate to buy this bundle. Even if the wrist rest doesn't last forever, the pad alone is worth it.
