Does the job, but couple of unpleasant surprises

GIGABYTE X870E AORUS ELITE WIFI7 AM5 LGA 1718, ATX, DDR5, 4x M.2, PCIe 5.0, USB4, Wi-Fi 7, 2.5GbE LAN, EZ-Latch, 5-Year Warranty

Pros: - Hardware seems to be good and solid, motherboard works nicely. - BIOS is easy to use except for couple of issues.

Cons: - In order to replace the CMOS battery you need to be able to access the back of the mobo. This is not even explained in the manual and physically is bad design for me as I plan on keeping this system for a long time. - I MIGHT BE WRONG ABOUT THIS ONE, STILL INVESTIGATING: BIOS comes with Secure Boot enabled but it needs additional configuration. However SB is "Not Active" even if enabled. I already spent two days rebuilding the OS and it looks like I will not be able enabling the SB without OS reinstall. With my previous ASUS mobo just worked without any complication. - I wish when I load "optimized defaults" I could see list of settings on how my profile is different. Was possible with ASUS but not this board. You get shown difference if you change some settings, but not if you load default profile.

Overall Review: It's ok motherboard for my 9950x3D. Overall, pleasanlty surprised by this AMD system (moving from Intel).

Slower than HD 3850

HIS Radeon HD 4670 1GB DDR3 AGP 4X/8X Graphics Card H467Q1GHDAP

Pros: Good build quality, excellent, quiet and efficient cooler, running temperatures were great compared to my Sapphire HD 3850. Some games run smoother (even if FPS is lower) I guess due to 1gb of memory as opposed to 512mb.

Cons: Slower than HD 3850. Even with AA enabled HD 3850 beats it. Enabling AA just reduces the perf gap, not removes it.

Overall Review: Although it is based on a modern chipset, I do not recommend upgrade to it if you own HD 3850. Yes, on some (very few) tests this card is faster. And yes, this card suffers less perf drop with AA enabled. However, HD 3850 is faster especially in new games. They killed a good card with a 128bit memory bus. I returned the card because I could no longer play Bioshock on my usual settings.
