Great value

OCZ Vertex 3 2.5" 120GB SATA III MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) VTX3-25SAT3-120G
OCZ Vertex 3 2.5" 120GB SATA III MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) VTX3-25SAT3-120G

Pros: Easy upgrade. Fast: cold boot-up of Windows 7 on a ThinkPad T500 now takes 30 seconds! Reliable (see "Cons" re. updating SSD's firmware).

Cons: My SSD (bought Nov 2011) caused tons of BSOD until I updated its firmware, then it's been rock-solid since.

It was fast but not furious!

Kingston SSDNow V-Series SNV125-S2BN/128GB 2.5" 128GB SATA II MLC Internal Solid state disk (SSD) Notebook bundled accessory kit

Pros: Twice as fast as my Lenovo T500's 7200rpm OEM disk, according to CrystalDiskMark. Cloning the OEM disk was extremely easy.

Cons: Was probably the cause of many blue screens, hangs, program crashes (that never used to happen in the previous nine months of using this T500.

Overall Review: I bought this on Nov 27, installed it in my Lenovo T500 on Jan 7, and swapped the OEM drive back in on Feb 5! It may have been coincidental, but during the one month using the SSD, I got more blue screens, system hangs, and program crashes than probably in my entire career (almost 30 years!)!!! Yesterday the T500 wouldn't reboot, Windows complaining half way through the boot process that it "cannot evrify the digital signature" of ntkrn1pa.exe. Lenovo's "Restore & Rescue" was AWOL as well, hanging when I tried to go into "Advanced Restore & Rescue". Reseating the SSD didn't help. I swapped the OEM drive back in, put the SSD into the Kingston USB enclosure. When I plugged it into laptop, I got a pop-up error dialog: "You need to format the disk in drive G before you can use it. Do you want to format it? Format disk/Cancel" !!!! When I tried to access the drive via Windows Explorer, I got: "G:\ is not accessible. The file or directory is corrupted and unreadable." Howeve

Good razor

Panasonic ES8103S 3-Blade Wet/Dry Electric Shaver With Nanotech Blades
Panasonic ES8103S 3-Blade Wet/Dry Electric Shaver With Nanotech Blades

Pros: This Panasonic shaver shaves almost as close as a blade. It took a bit of getting used to, but so does shaving with a blade razor. Once I have the motions down, it shaves as comfortably and as quickly (or as slowly!) as a blade razor. It's waterproof: I shave using hand lotion and it's easy to clean the razor by just swishing it vigorously in a sinkful of water. It charges quickly: from 10% to 100% in about 1.5 hours.

Cons: The foils & head gets hot very quickly. It's not too hot for comfort, but I'd have prefer it run cooler. A small nit regarding the charging cord: it only plugs into the razor in one orientation, so it'd be better if it has a more obvious visual indicator for that orientation. Instead, I often need to try twice before I could get the cord plugged into the razor.
