Pros: Wow, I still have one of the earlier Q9450 version that is at least a year older than the originals of these Q9400 in my main gaming computer. What happened did newegg loose a whole bunch of these and just find them now. I Love these processors. They overclock well and has treated me nicely but really, if mine which is now a good 4+ years old died on me I would upgrade by now even if the price was reasonable. Still I can't express how impressed I am by newegg to actually do this, if they did it 2 years ago I might just have bought a back up one. Too bad these were built so well even after 4 years of overclocking my 2.66 to 3.5 ghz its still is not destroyed. Still while a good idea newegg, its after 4 years. I think though after 4 years, anyone reading this is probably wondering why all gamers would not have already upgraded or rather why, me who is writing this, is seriously still using one of these and has not upgraded already. I think this is great and I find it hysterical that they actually still have some core 2 quads in stock.
Cons: next cpu's lets price this more reasonably after 4 years and do what you have just done 2 years earlier.
Simply the worst memory I have bought
Pros: Fast and cheap compared to others when I bought it 109.99 + 10 mail in rebate
Cons: First I bought it because it was advertised to run at 1.9 volts which would at least give us a chance to allow it to run with our mushkin which is all the same specs except it runs at 1.85-1.95. Well that didn't work. Indeed it actually came with a rating at 1.7v and online at ocz it was listed at 1.8v and at newegg it was stated at 1.9v. Called up OCZ and asked them about this and the guy said well if its listed at 1.9v on newegg then I suppose it should be able to do 1.7-1.9v. IT Did not work at any voltages between 1.7-1.9v at all with or without the mushkin memory in there so overall it was DOA and mis advertised. It was cheap and the worst memory I ever had to deal with very poor experience not buying from ocz for a while now.
Large, decent build quality
Pros: very large for the price we paid. Color, contrast ratio, clarity is good for the price we paid but nothing special nor spectacular. 2ms makes us happy while gaming no noticeable lag or delay. No dead pixels and decent build quality. Its everything I was expecting. Its no led monitor, no 8 bit eips monitor or anything, so their is nothing technically special about the quality, but for the price its an exceptional monitor. Thei size is excellent and their is no flaws.
Cons: Why are these 27 inches still 1920x1080 at this screen size we should be at 2560x1440. Or at the very least 16x10 1920x1200. The dot pitch isn't too large but its larger then any other monitor I have seen
Pros: I can't really complain, so far has improved my 5 year old nc6400 with an old dual core 2 duo processor laptop start up time and response time considerably. I have high respect for western digital not only for their respectable performance but for their reliability. I have used hitatchi, samsung, seagate, and western digital hard drives for many years now and especially for western digital black editions they have always lasted the longest anywhere from 4-5 years before failing on me. Overall the performance is very good, its performance is a tie for me compared to the samsung spinpoint f3.
Cons: I am holding out on the 5th egg to wait and see if in the long run it lasts as long as previous western digital blacks if so, this by far deserves a 5 egg raiting. The only other con is it advertises it performs as good as desktop hard drives, and while its impressively close its not quite equal, still performance wise it deserves a 5 egg for a laptop hard drive. I just want to see it last a couple years before I give out the 5th egg.
perfect, exceeded expectations
Pros: Orderd on thursday and with 3 day shipping got it friday. worked fast and flawlessly. Bought 2 and did raid 0 (you do not need tler for raid 0) and cloned my 500gb single hard drive windows 7 partition to my raid 0 hard drive and was surprised that without trouble my windows 7 booted up on my raid 0. - Improved my overall speed to 193mb read and 169mb write. -cheap price since I got a shell shocker + coupon discount for both -more extra sectors then my old drives -got one with mcn CB on it so WDTLER did work on that drive but disabled it for raid 0 -fast shipping simply put improved my overall performance by a ton now windows 7 is so much more responsive and games load well over 2 times the speed.
Cons: Bare drive so no fancy box that usually woe's my fed ex delivery man.
Overall Review: Couldn't be happier shipping was super fast and it was free, price was amazing and it did everything I hoped for improved performance plus extended my space 4x and lost no data on top of that got one caviar that works with tler so it can work with mirroring or raid 5 for future purposes.
Pros: wonderful card even though the benefit might seem to be that its superclocked thats not really the benefit, its that its over voltaged by evga and evga warranties overclocking but not overvoltaging so to get this car overvoltaged from .95 to 1.025 is all the difference take this card and over clock the hell out of It. i got 825 on my core making 1650 on my Shader and 1826x2=3652 on my memory. Helped increase the games a real lot and really overclocks amazingly. I highly recommend this it also comes with a step up plan so if the 480 drops in price in the next 3 months you can step up to a 480 but only stock so not much room for overclocking. Plays crysis on very high all with 1920x1200 between 36-42 fps stably with my q9450 and get 17000 vantage score stock and over 20000 overclocked. I am very happy with this. Heat is not a problem when the fans are turned up at 80% its quiter them my 8800 gts and a tad louder at 100%. On stress tests overclocked max temp reached 97c but average is66c
Cons: While its architecture is its strength its raw power is kinda its weakness. Unlike ati 5000 series this thing doesn't throw in large fps numbers as much as I wanted it to. I mean it gets about 25% better then my 2 8800 gts 512 g92 cards sli'd but on the high end games its infinitely better and usually on max settings easily 200%-300% better on most games. For UT3 maxed I only get about 130 with a 8800 gts as a dedicated ppu which my old 2 would get about 100 fps. But in tougher games like crysis now I get over 30fps on very high over all antialising and antistrophisy maxed out sadly with both turned off I only get a 6fps gain. So its not a brute force gpu that will get those high fps in the weaker games easily but its core is 25mhz slower and shader is 400 mhz slower still with gddr5 its memory core is much faster giving it the consistancy on more difficult games.
Overall Review: still reached 300 fps on cod4 constantly which is impressive. I reccomend 2 of these if you want to play at max settings like me on all games for the future and past and still be able to compete in competitive lan parties.
