Nice upgrade

ASUS Radeon HD 3850 512MB GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 CrossFireX Support Graphics Card EAH3850/G/HTDI/512M
ASUS Radeon HD 3850 512MB GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 CrossFireX Support Graphics Card EAH3850/G/HTDI/512M

Pros: Fast card uses little power, came with all the goodies and COH is addiciting. Quick install solid drivers so far. And as always Newegg rocked on the shipping side. - It appeared in the a HUGE box well protected and in pristine shape.

Cons: A little noisy but very tolerable. I run an air filter in my office that can easily drown this guy out.

Overall Review: I have it installed in a asus M2NPV-VM motherboard and the only problem is the heat sink/fan assembly blocks 2 of my sata ports. Additionally I had to give up a IDE port because the card just reached over the top of the IDE ports and the connector. With a cable installed the cable connector is 1/8 of an inch too tall so it would not allow the card to seat fully. This forced me to do some unanticipated hardware exhanges amongst my various machines to get it set up. So instead of rebuilding one machine I ended up having to rebuild 3 over the holidays lol oh well they needed xp flushed anyway.

Smokin drive

Seagate BarraCuda 7200.12 ST31000528AS 1TB 7200 RPM 32MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive Bare Drive

Pros: Fast, huge(relatively), quiet, cool, fast, wait did I say fast? Yeah fast. Really fast. Like the 300+ pound NFL lineman that hits you from 20 yards away before you can even think about getting out of the way. Big and fast justthe way we like them. Runs cooler then a lot of other drives in my rig. I put it up against my raptor 74 and was very impressed, no hard bench marks but general perceived performance is on par with the raptor. NO FIRMWARE ISSUES yet :) though I am not so sure the firmware issue in the .11's was as big a deal as it was made out to be in the first place.

Cons: Wasnt 2 TB Wasnt free. Took more then 24 hours to get to me. Seriously cant find anything wrong with this drive for its intended use.

Overall Review: Like a certain swoosh catch phase "just buy it." Price/performance at the moment is off the charts. System configuration: Phenom II 940 Gigabyte GA-MA78GM-US2H Corsair 750TX 4 gig A-DATA DD2 PC2-6400 WD Raptor 74 WD Raptor 150 WD green 1TB Seagate 7200.12 TB XP 32bit old school baby - waiting for 7

Simply stunning upgrade

AMD Phenom II X4 940 Black Edition - Phenom II X4 Deneb Quad-Core 3.0 GHz Socket AM2+ 125W Processor - HDZ940XCGIBOX
AMD Phenom II X4 940 Black Edition - Phenom II X4 Deneb Quad-Core 3.0 GHz Socket AM2+ 125W Processor - HDZ940XCGIBOX

Pros: Ok like a previous poster I was struck by how many times last night I said WOW when I really put this processor through it paces. I rendered a 10 minute mini dv video in premier to h264 in 5 minutes. Down from over an hour on the dual core 3600 I replaced. Not to mention the fact that it dropped right into the current motherboard am2+ motherboard in my system. I was concerned about power consumption as my rig is fed by a trusty antec 350w earthwatts ps but my kill-a-watt registered a peak of 280watts during the render with all 4 cores loaded. Playing a 3d game on my 3850 again was well below 300watts. All I can say is hats off to AMD, this is in no way a core i7 killer but for those of us out there that care more about getting the job done vs the I get the highest benchmarks this processor is a blessing.

Cons: 1. It didnt install its self 2. It arrived on monday and not friday (my fault for waiting too long to order) 3. It wasnt free Seriously, if your already on an amd am2+ platform you really have no reason NOT to upgrade if your considering it.

Overall Review: While I dont consider myself a amd fanboy I do like to watch out for what I spend on the price to performance ratio. I did spec out a upgrade to the core i7 but for the difference in performance vs the outlay in cash I really couldnt justify it and I am glad I didnt. This processor is fast quiet and cool. It gets the job done and done in a time that is more then acceptable to me. When I was younger I would have bought the core simply to be able to say I have the baddest box on the planet. well older and wiser I now have a VERY fast box and the extra cash I saved can now go into more drives and maybe a new video card and a lot more beer to celebrate my puchase!! :) way to go AMD i really hope you survive your misfortunes and this is a strong step in that direction.

OUTRAGEOUS? I think not

Xerox Phaser 6180N Workgroup Up to 26 ppm Color Ethernet (RJ-45) / LPT / USB Laser Printer
Xerox Phaser 6180N Workgroup Up to 26 ppm Color Ethernet (RJ-45) / LPT / USB Laser Printer

Pros: Great speed, great text and graphics. As some have mentioned once you get color managment configured correctly this is a solid solid printer for the money. We use this for all my wifes realestate printing needs and it was the best money spent. Though I need the duplexer now hehe

Cons: paper path is a bit convoluted and will wrinkle envelopes and produce a nice curve in heavy card stock.

Overall Review: As for the poster who said the toner is outrageous I beg to differ. A simple search here on the egg will show your numbers are a bit misleading. Hi Cap (8000 page) black at UNDER $200 normal color at under $100 you can refit the entire machine for less then $500 with hicap black and normal color. By the way this is pretyt much inline with eveyone else. Also when the toner estimator tells you to replace your cart you still have a lot left. Take it out and give it a nice shake and your good I will chek my numbers and get back to you on the first cart

Fine little media server

ASUS M2NPV-VM AM2 NVIDIA GeForce 6150 Micro ATX AMD Motherboard
ASUS M2NPV-VM AM2 NVIDIA GeForce 6150 Micro ATX AMD Motherboard

Pros: Simple, complete solution for a a media PC or in my case a media server. Onboard HD video is a plus. 4 channel SATA Raid + 4 IDE channels smooths the transition from old equipment Passive cooling DVI out. Firewire and gigabit lan rounds it out nicely

Cons: I am at a loss here, I havent encountered any as of yet that have had a impact on my situation.

Overall Review: I bought the combo deal with the AMD x2 3600+ Brisbane and a gig of trancend memory - dropped in my raid controller and drives form previous machine and was up and running without a hitch. I originally bought this for my media server but am so impressed with the combo that I may end up getting another set and rebuilding my actual media pc off this platform. Two thumbs up to newegg for putting the combo together.
