Pros: Looks to be a well-made product. I like the jumper for voltage. Was able to confirm the adapter itself works by connecting it to a 44pin ATA-to-USB adapter, and plugging it into a USB port. The 32GB Transcend 400x CF card popped up no problem.

Cons: Unfortunately, my Fujitsu Lifebook S2110 (2005 model, AMD Tirion64, 2GB RAM, ATI X200 chipset) did not recognize any ATA drive when this adapter was substituted for the hard disk. The notebook has two ATA bus, one for the HDD and one for the optical drive. Both drives are set to master for their respective bus. But even with the optical drive removed just in case, and the jumper on master/slave/cable sel, voltage to 5 or 3.3, the BIOS just does not see any ATA drive there, nor are any errors reported. It also sees no ATA drive when a 1GB microdrive is inserted instead of the CF card.

Overall Review: I wish it worked in place of the HDD. It works when connected via ATA-USB adapter. The Transcend CF card works when plugged into a Cardbus adapter on the same notebook, too. Unfortunately I cannot boot it off the Cardbus slot, or this might be an acceptable workaround.

Pros: 1 TB capacity Black and Shiny.

Cons: USB cord is very very stiff. It's difficult to set the disk on top of a computer case, because the stiff cable does not lay down slack or conform to a bend easily. Drive frequently is not recognized when plugged into Toshiba Qosmio notebook running Windows 7. When the drive is recognized and mounted, it will often disconnect spontaneously while in use.

Overall Review: Could not use it reliably. Returned for refund.
