Update the firmware - with the right one!

Pros: Works as specified. As fast as a wired connection with 4meg DSL
Cons: Initial firmware (1.08) was problematic. Updated firmware is fine but you have to get the right one!
Overall Review: This is new V3.1 hardware. Initial firmware (1.08) had issues configuring WEP security settings. I went to the Linksys site (US) and found V3 firmware and downloaded V2.07. Then I ran into an error in the Linksys documentation. You have to type "admin" for the user and "admin" for the password to access the web page setup. The documentation says to only enter admin for the password. Therefore, I had to call Linksys and their tech was stuck as well as asked me to return for a new one. I eventually figured this out myself, got into the web based setup and uploaded the V207 firmware. Guess what, same issue! I was able to configure with the V212 setup program from the CD and I put the bridge into use. Linksys called me today on Sunday (5/27/07) and said they figured out the user name had to be "admin". They also told me the V3.1 hardware is usually just sold to the UK and had me download it from there (V2.03). This corrected the WEP configuration issue and all is working fine now.

Pros: Excellent feature set. Love the form factor and battery life. Unlike other review I WAS able to upgrade RAM to 2 gigs but had to use Kingston PC2-5300 (667) RAM. Two different sticks of Crucial RAM did not work
Cons: None
Overall Review: Great little netbook for the price. Windows 7 Starter is a bit limited but overall very pleased

Works great with current hard drives

Pros: Fan keps drive reasonably cool. Aluminum case also helps with heat transfer
Cons: Wish it could sit upright...only sits horizontal.
Overall Review: Adjustment for IDE-Power connector is a little strange but works OK once you figure it out
Working great so far

Pros: Very quiet. Operating fine in an older case with mediocre cooling
Cons: None
Overall Review: This is a replacement for TWO failed Seagate drives
