Does What It's Supposed To

Pros: Small. Light weight. Portable. Does what it's supposed to do. Affordable price. Easy to use.
Cons: This thing was shipped in a huge box with about a quarter pound of styrofoam peanuts. It comes in a thin plastic container and could have easily been sent in an envelope. Newegg should probably reconsider their shipping policies as it was just absolute overkill the way they packed this tiny little device. Waste not want not or whatever. Get a clue.
Overall Review: One reviewer claimed that this reader had 2 seperate USB connectors. I think maybe that was a review for a totally different product because it only has the one (1) USB connector on it and it works just fine. Keep that in mind if you are reading the reviews here and are put off by the idea of 2 seperate connectors. I got this reader for the MiniSD in my camera and the MicroSD in my Sansa media player. It works great both in Windows and Linux and I can use both the Mini and the Micro slot at the same time. The read and write times are about average for what you would expect from a portable reader like this and it seems fairly well constructed. You wouldn't want to shove it in your pocket and walk around with it all day but for normal use it should hold up just fine. I would recommend this to anyone who needs a portable card reader at an affordable price. It does exactly what it's supposed to do and it does it well.
DEAD FAN

Pros: Got this on sale here from newegg for $40 off almost 3 years ago. It was modular and had everything I needed so I went for it.
Cons: Fan died 2 months before 3 year warranty was up.
Overall Review: I've got this powering my Linux desktop for normal daily use. No gaming or anything very demanding. Nothing overclocked. Box runs pretty cool. So I was somewhat surprised when the fan died. Luckily I had an extra 120mm laying around to replace it with. That was faster and easier than dealing with the warranty and I figured a new one would have the same fan in it so mine is now better than new. You get what you pay for I guess. If you can get this on sale and you can live with the inevitability of fan failure then I would still recommend this unit. But I'm a little surprised that Antec would cheap out on fans. A power supply is only as good as the fan keeping it cool. Would have been 1 egg if I had paid full price.
ViewSonic VX2739WM Excellent Choice

Pros: No dead pixels. Big wide screen. Crisp, clear display with excellent contrast, quick response time, and good viewing angles. 16:9 display is perfect for HD content. 1080p is awesome. Input select button is extremely useful and well placed. Great price and fast shipping from newegg. 3 year warranty.
Cons: Almost too big; I had to set this all the way back on my desk just to take it all in. Takes a bit of getting used to. No height adjustment. Would have preferred 16:10 display but good luck finding one in this size and price range. Blue LED on power button is really bright and distracting.
Overall Review: Upgrading from a 22" 16:10 display is a bit odd. I was expecting this thing to be huge but it's mostly just a lot wider being 16:9 and took some getting used to. Now that I've got it setup the way I want, though, it I'm not looking back. This is my main monitor for day to day desktop use as well as gaming and watching movies, television, etc... I don't know if I buy the 1ms hype but this thing is definitely awesome for gaming and watching HD content. There is no lack of response here. Still getting used to the aspect ratio but this thing is so huge that there is no shortage of desktop space for browsing the web or anything else. I've got my Linux box on the HDMI and my Windows gaming rig on the DVI input. Switching back and forth with the select button on the side takes about 3 seconds each way. Such a great feature.
CUDA

Pros: Zotac makes good cards. Got this on sale so that's a bonus. Inexpensive option for CUDA support. Easy install. Card runs cool and quiet. Free and fast shipping from newegg. Lifetime limited warranty. Very satisfied.
Cons: None as of yet but keep in mind that this is not a gaming card. Unless you're playing really old games I wouldn't recommend this card for anything but CUDA support or day to day desktop use. Also, I'm not able to set the fan speed with nvclock in Linux. I had to crank the fan up on my old card when it got hot but this Zotac is running cool all by itself so I'm not even worried about it.
Overall Review: I got this card for vdpau support on my Linux box with a dual core Opteron that was overheating when playing h264. After upgrading drivers and rebuilding mplayer with the nvidia patches it's running like a charm. Huge improvement over the old 7600 GT I had in there. This card does all the work so my Opteron stays nice and cool. No more overheating and I can enjoy 1080p all day long without worrying about it. This is a great upgrade for people with older hardware that want to watch HD content.
Inexpensive S/PDIF passthrough in Linux.

Pros: Great price. Easy to install. Works great in Linux with ALSA. Does what I need it to do and performs as expected.
Cons: None yet.
Overall Review: Bought this card for S/PDIF passthrough from my Linux box for DVDs and HD content with 5.1 and DTS audio. Worked right out of the box. Took about a minute to setup with alsaconf. Checked settings in alsamixer. Works with mplayer using hwdts or hwac3 audio codec. Works with flash and other audio programs as well.
Careful What You Wish For

Pros: Fast. Cheap. Quality burns. Excellent 3rd party bitsetting firmware support for great DVD-ROM booktype justice. Purchased from Newegg. NEC/Sony/Optiarc brand reassurance. SATA.
Cons: First drive received had a weak laser. Turned my precious Yuden media into coasters. Return shipping is about 1/3 the cost of the drive.
Overall Review: I've been using nothing but NEC burners for years. They are good quality drives that produce excellent burns with just about any media. Until you get a bad one. This is the third time in 3 or 4 years that I've had to RMA due to a bad or defective laser. Honestly it's worth the trouble. I test everything I burn and I'd rather have a good NEC drive than anything else. They consistently produce thousands of excellent quality burns before wearing out. Once you get a good one you're set.
