Great image Quality, Audio Issue
Pros: The image quality on this projector is superb! Just keep in mind it is a short throw projector so the image it projects is immense from a very short distance. It is mainly marketed for gaming but I hooked up my laptop, which has an HDMI output, and played a few HD movies to see the quality of the image. For a lack of better words...WOW! Great projector for the price.
Cons: The speakers on the projector are decent at best. The reason I gave it 3 stars is because of one HUGE design flaw in my opinion. The 3.5 mm Audio output jack. When you plug speakers or headphones in to the jack...THE SOUND COMING FROM THE PROJECTOR SPEAKERS DOESN'T SHUT OFF!!!! Yes you can hear sound coming from whatever you plugged in, but if the projector speakers dont shut off that defeats the purpose of headphones. I tried everything I could to shut out the speakers on the projector with zero success. Went through the entire menu...nothing. Read the entire user manual...nothing. Turning the volume down on the projector also turns down the volume on the output jack. I finally called Optomo Tech Support to see if there was some kind of fix. The Tech on the phone said "Ya, there is no way to turn that off." No way to upgrade firmware either. Needless to say I am utterly shocked that they could have overlooked something so simple.
Overall Review: I'm seriously contemplating if I should return this projector. Oh and the GT720 has the same problem according to the Optoma Tech. You have been warned.
