OCZ Vertex Series 2.5" 30GB SATA II MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) OCZSSD2-1VTX30GXXX
OCZ Vertex Series 2.5" 30GB SATA II MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) OCZSSD2-1VTX30GXXX

Pros: Oh where to begin... I read the reviews and it convinced me to buy. I put two of these into my machine and configured a Striped RAID, benchmarked using ATTO (a previous user recommended it). I really am getting 310MB/s Write and 360MB/s Read. Everything opens almost instantly; Browsing is much faster; Startup has been sped up ~300%; No noise; No heat. Without the RAID these are much faster than my existing SATA II HDD's so I was tempted to put one of these in my system and the other into my laptop, but after seeing the speed almost double in the RAID my mind was set. I don't know if you noticed, but these drives have 64Mb built in caching which eliminated the problem of any 'stuttering', Buy them, you want to need them.

Cons: Shipped with an older flash, after flashing to the latest (right now 1.10) bios, the SSD's ran without any issues. Price: you are going to have to take a hit / Mb for the speed. I still use my Large HDD for data storage.

Overall Review: They do not fit into a standard case unless you buy the 2.5" to 3.5" conversion rails. I think ten doll hairs is too much to pay for what should have been included.

Nice PC, Bad OS

Lenovo Desktop PC IdeaCentre K230(5359-4GU) Core 2 Quad Q8200 (2.33GHz) 6GB DDR2 640GB HDD Intel GMA 3100 Windows Vista Home Premium 64-bit
Lenovo Desktop PC IdeaCentre K230(5359-4GU) Core 2 Quad Q8200 (2.33GHz) 6GB DDR2 640GB HDD Intel GMA 3100 Windows Vista Home Premium 64-bit

Pros: Love the PC - it's fast!

Cons: Vista. I was under the impression that I could upgrade to Windows 7. Apparently this model does not qualify. The sticker on the front of the PC was a Vista Basic sticker but the license is correct.

Overall Review: The price was right so I am happy, but the Vista fiasco frustrates me. Maybe it would not have been so bad had I not gotten my hopes up.

Not as good as I had hoped

ASUS Transformer Pad 10.1" IPS Tablet TF300T-B1-BL NVIDIA Tegra 3 1.20GHz - 1GB DDR3 - 32GB -Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich)- Blue
ASUS Transformer Pad 10.1" IPS Tablet TF300T-B1-BL NVIDIA Tegra 3 1.20GHz - 1GB DDR3 - 32GB -Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich)- Blue

Pros: Very happy overall with the ASUS tranformer line. This tablet is very light to hold, the edges are not sharp (like the prime) » The screen is bright and easy to read. » The processor is zippy (but has some cons)

Cons: Perhaps this is a software problem, but I was very impressed with the camera on my TF101, especially the auto-focus. I was using it almost like a document scanner. I'd take pictures of business cards, receipts, everything. I could put the camera just a couple of inches away and it would focus. This tablet, however, out of the box would not focus on anything. I switched the Focus mode to auto and away from 'continuous auto focus' and it is much better. Not as good as the TF101. While downloading the tablet tends to freeze up. The google play market was force closing because I was trying to scroll through my list of apps while it was updating others. Wireless N? Barely. Still connecting at a grand speed of 72Mbps 5ft away from a 300Mb/s router. No gorilla glass. Almost worth it to go for the prime just for that. what the.... both speakers are on the right side... like the kindle fire. What were they thinking??!!?? I did not think it would be so annoying. It IS so annoying!

Overall Review: I really thought this tablet would be a good prime alternative. I was mistaken. If ASUS can make a tablet like their prime but with good wifi & gps, and round out the edges a bit (they are pretty sharp), that would be the perfect tablet.

Disappointed

Rosewill RX-DU300 - 2.5" & 3.5" SATA USB 3.0 Hard Drive Docking Station
Rosewill RX-DU300 - 2.5" & 3.5" SATA USB 3.0 Hard Drive Docking Station

Pros: It works.

Cons: It runs much slower than another brand I bought from NewEgg for almost the same price

Overall Review: Transferring a 4.5Gb file from an SSD to my computer via USB 3.0 this drive took 54 seconds. Another brand I bought took 36 seconds to transfer the same file. I repeated the test many times using the same method; SSD; and even the same port on the computer to be sure.

StarTech.com SATDOCKU3S Plastic 2.5" & 3.5" Black SATA Hard Drive Docking Station for 2.5/3.5 HDD

Pros: I ran some speed tests, and this device blew away the other HDD docking stations I purchased from NewEgg. It looks very nice on my desk When I need another, I'll buy this one again

Cons: The power button is a tad bit hard to press, but not enough to even bug me.

Overall Review: I ran the speed tests several times to be sure. I am getting with this particular SSD 124 MB/s on my transfer The iso image I transferred is 4,820,637,696 bytes (or 4.48 GB). It took 36 seconds to transfer via USB 3.0, which means it was transferring at 124 MB/s The other brands that I tried failed me.
