Great value - NO HDMI
Pros: Great colors Adjustable height Big screen Good value
Cons: NO HDMI even though Newegg description says it is NO USB hub as I saw in some other description Very bright blue LED power light in lower right Built in speakers are unimpressive Screen doesn't seem perfectly level but seems to tilt a little to the right
Overall Review: NO HDMI even though Newegg description said it was. Included with monitor: 6 foot 3 prong power cord 6 foot DVI video cable 6 foot VGA cable 6 foot male to male stereo audio cable Printed Quick start guide in tiny text font. Regular size CD with PDF manuals, Acer GridVista Utility software for displaying multiple windows on the same screen, and Acer Display Management software. Visible screen at highest height - Bottom 7 3/4" from desk surface - Top of visible screen 18 3/4" from desk surface At lowest height - Bottom 3 1/2" - Top top 14 1/2 (Have to press screen downwards and move unlock switch before you can adjust height) I'm using this for my Google ChromeBox so I never did anything with the included software. I wanted a cheap large monitor and this fits the bill nicely. I wish Google Chrome had large fonts but I can't blame that on this monitor. Happy with my purchase.
Not recognized by windows
Pros: Beautiful, elegant packaging.
Cons: Stopped being recognized after a few initial uses.
Overall Review: This drive seemed fine and I was able to write and read files to it but then it just stopped being recognized by Windows XP. Now, connecting the drive to the PC has the same effect as not connecting the drive; it's just invisible. I got the same result when using a different USB cable and different PC running Knoppix. Disappointing that I spent $90 for a paperweight and I'm still without a desperately needed external drive.
Generates more heat than I expected
Pros: Fast and silent
Cons: Generates more heat than I expected
Overall Review: My laptop touchpad gets warm now that I've installed this Corsair SSD. A household thermometer placed on my touchpad reads 94 F. A Kingston SSDNow V+200 I purchased last fall and even a Western Digital Scorpio spinning hard disk ran cooler than this. Consider other brands if you're looking for a cooler drive.
Compact, easy to remove, seems sturdy, not fast
Pros: Easy to remove Compact Mostly metal
Cons: The plastic that makes up the hole at one end seems very thing and might break. Not very fast
Overall Review: Using a magnet, see that most of the drive is magnetic except for the black end with the hole in it. Plastic hole seems thin and might break. The metal part of the drive has a smoke tint to it. Comes with 3 1/2 “ beaded chain that is 1 1/2" when made into loop. Once on my key ring total length including chain is 2 1/2 " When inserted into the computer, the flash drive extends 1/2 inch. Times for copying 10 large files totalling about 2.4GB. My laptop has a USB 2.0 port and the operating system is Ubuntu Linux. Silicon Power Touch T01 Mini 8GB USB 2.0 - approx 10 minutes Patriot Xporter XT Rage 16GB - a little over 3 minutes http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820220505 The flash drive is small, easy to remove and aside from the thin plastic end that the chain loops through, seems like it should hold up on my keyring. I have faster USB flash drives but on my key ring this is more convenient.
Corrupted files and unable to format within one month
Pros: Low price, fast speed
Cons: Corrupted files and unable to format within one month.
Overall Review: I ordered this Wintec flash card on 10/2/2011, received it within a week, and the files I copied to it were corrupted and was unable to format the card within a month. I haven't bothered to send it back. When it failed on 11/6/2011 I simply ordered a Mushkin flash card and received that on 11/10/2011. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820226233 I was using the card in a Visual Land 'MP3 Boombox' purchased elsewhere. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16882629005 I'm hoping the Mushkin works out well as I've had no problems with the Mushkin USB drives I've had.
