Attention internal ST3000DM003 5900rpm

Seagate Backup Plus 3TB USB 3.0 3.5" Desktop Hard Drive STCA3000101 Black
Seagate Backup Plus 3TB USB 3.0 3.5" Desktop Hard Drive STCA3000101 Black

Pros: Bottom portion where the usb and power plug in very easily pops off to serve as a HDD dock. When bottom is removed the hard drive in the big black case has its sata and power connections directly accessable so you can install this into your computer as an internal drive None of this will void warrenty Hard drive was 100% funtional in a constant 15hour test/benchmark with reading and writing and then proved to have no bad sectors and consistent speeds. Max through usb3.0 transfer speeds were 150MB/s and down to approx 70MB/s across the drive. Most likely a very reliable and long lasting external drive if it is not abused.

Cons: On forums there was mention that the dock must have a hard drive with 4k sectors/blocks. I have not tested this. DID NOT HAVE ST3000DM001 internal drive as expected but had "ST3000DM003" Drive is a 5900rpm drive and therefore SLOWER than the ST3000DM001 by approx 25%. Speculation: As the model number of the hdd is only off by the last digit i believe that this IS the ST3000DM001 but its firmware has been changed to operate at 5900rpm instead of 7200rpm. I expect that this change improves the devices lifespan and decreases temperatures.

Overall Review: All in all a very reliable drive and fairly fast for an external or internal drive. Just remember its a 5900rpm drive. Bought it local at Costco for more $ because i wasn't patient :( As always buying an external drive is a shot in the dark on what is inside. I hear the STBV3000100 is almost a sure bet on it being a ST3000DM001 inside

Save for a better laptop

Lenovo Y40 14” Full HD Gaming Laptop with Intel Core i7-4510U 2.0Ghz (3.10Ghz Turbo), 8GB RAM, 1TB HDD, Radeon R9 M275 2GB, JBL Speakers, Windows 8.1 64 Bit
Lenovo Y40 14” Full HD Gaming Laptop with Intel Core i7-4510U 2.0Ghz (3.10Ghz Turbo), 8GB RAM, 1TB HDD, Radeon R9 M275 2GB, JBL Speakers, Windows 8.1 64 Bit

Pros: Compact, OK sound quality, um... its air vent is out the back/top?

Cons: Spacebar only works with your left thumb but only in a certain area. Only 30% of they spacebar responds to pushing. The other 70% requires unnatural hard pressing to work. The M275 is definetly better than an integrated GPU or APU but not by much. The whole PC freaks out when starting a game which uses the M275. This also occurs when alt-tabbing. The whole windows experience is slow. It takes 3-6 seconds to open the menu when you right click on the desktop. 1080p on Youtube does NOT play smooth on the integrated Intel 4400 and to run youtube smooth you have to force the M275 to run when Chrome is running It's just ridiculous.

Overall Review: Just buy something else.

Patriot Viper 3 16GB (2 x 8GB) 240-Pin PC RAM DDR3 1866 (PC3 15000) Desktop Memory Model PV316G186C0K

Pros: Very stable ram. Currently running them at 2400mhz loose timings at 10-12-11-33 2t @ 1.725v. Havent played with the timings very much except i cannot get them stable at 10-11-11-33. Maybe if i wait another few weeks they will be able to take tighter timings or faster speed.

Cons: None at rated voltage/timings. Needs to be broken in to get it running at the speeds I'm currently at. Took a week running it at 2133 then i pushed it to 2200 then to 2400 after about a month. Out of the box it was NOT stable at 2200mhz.

Not bad at all

SilenX Effizio Thermistor EFX-12-15T 120mm Case Fan
SilenX Effizio Thermistor EFX-12-15T 120mm Case Fan

Pros: I bought 2 of these as processor heat sink fans on my Xigmatek Dark Knight II Night Hawk Ed. Cpu Cooler for two reasons: they were black and white to match my case and interior AND they automatically adjust their rpm. I stuck their temperature sensors in a couple screw holes i didnt use on the BASE of the heat sink. Do not put their sensors in the fins where cool air is passing through. I could have also put the sensors in the north bridge heat sinks. either would have kept the fans at 100% all the time anyway. At 100% ~1000rpm they are Silent!

Cons: Would have liked the manufacturer to include a way to bypass the temperature sensor so i could just plug them into the mobo without having to worry about finding a place for the sensors.

Overall Review: No annoying lights. I hate leds on my fans...

Impressed

Rosewill ROCF-11003 - 140mm Computer Case Cooling Fan - Hydro Dynamic Bearing, Silent, 2 Rotation Speeds with PWM Control
Rosewill ROCF-11003 - 140mm Computer Case Cooling Fan - Hydro Dynamic Bearing, Silent, 2 Rotation Speeds with PWM Control

Pros: Have this on the top of my case (Fractal R4) and it is very impressive. Keep it below 1100 rpm is acceptable and at 1000 rpm its pretty much silent at 3ft.

Cons: None so far. Have to wait and see about longevity.

Overall Review: It moves more air than the case fans that came with my case but it is a little louder. I would absolutely buy again.

Better than Razer

Logitech G600MMO Gaming Mouse - White
Logitech G600MMO Gaming Mouse - White

Pros: Very easy to click L and R mouse buttons. Awesome 4th mouse button next to R button. Angled thumb buttons are just perfectly aligned so you dont forget your place. The software is beyond perfect. It has every feature you would ever want. single key press, repeating, multi key, windows commands, media... The mouse fits perfectly in small to large hands. not sure about XL hands...but should be just fine. Index finger on Lbutton, Middle finger on Rbutton, Ring finger on the G-Shift button.

Cons: None. This mouse performs perfectly

Overall Review: Razer Naga has nothing on this mouse. I've owned the Naga and it was absolutely terrible. It has horrible tracking and the buttons were painful to use.
