still not fast enough

ADATA 8GB Secure Digital High-Capacity (SDHC) Flash Card Eee PC Edition Model TURBO SDHC 8G EeePC
ADATA 8GB Secure Digital High-Capacity (SDHC) Flash Card Eee PC Edition Model TURBO SDHC 8G EeePC

Pros: Eight (8) GBs of storage is always good, especially in something that small. It comes close to the Pearl White color of the 4/8G's but will probably be more useful in a Pure White 2G.

Cons: If you were looking for extra storage, this thing will do the job. Just make sure to bring a coffee or something else to keep you busy while its copying. As a class six, its max write/read will be around 9MB/s which isn't near enough to run games from much less an operating system.

Overall Review: For storage, it might be better off going for a cheaper stick with lower transfer rate if all you're going to do is access small files, music and movies. For programs, gaming and operating systems, you might want to take a look at the Patriot Xporter XT series USB drives. They're a bit more expensive, but should suit light gaming needs.

DOA

Foxconn M61PMP-K AM3 NVIDIA MCP61P Micro ATX AMD Motherboard
Foxconn M61PMP-K AM3 NVIDIA MCP61P Micro ATX AMD Motherboard

Pros: As of today, it's the cheapest AM3 board.

Cons: Board was DOA.

Overall Review: It's not an uncommon occurrence for a mobo to arrive dead now and then. This review is only made to knock a few eggs off to warn future buyers of what to expect.

Update your BIOS!!!!

GIGABYTE B550 AORUS MASTER AM4 AMD B550 ATX Motherboard with Triple M.2, SATA 6Gb/s, USB 3.2 Gen 2, WIFI 6, 2.5 GbE LAN, PCIe 4.0
GIGABYTE B550 AORUS MASTER AM4 AMD B550 ATX Motherboard with Triple M.2, SATA 6Gb/s, USB 3.2 Gen 2, WIFI 6, 2.5 GbE LAN, PCIe 4.0

Overall Review: Works great, but make sure to update your bios. It posts with a 5950x, but it won't install any OS via USB without a bios update. I thought it might be install media, so I tried a Linux stick which also kept freezing after initial startup of the boot process. I think it's related to the USB drop problem these boards and chips have. I'm not sure which version it will start working with, but I updated all the way to 13h before trying again and finally succeeding in installing Windows.

Garbage

TP-LINK TL-WDN4200 N900 Wireless Dual Band USB Adapter, 2.4 GHz 450 Mbps / 5GHz 450 Mbps, One-Button Setup,Windows XP / Vista / 7 / 8 Certified Refurbished

Pros: 2.4 Ghz works?

Cons: 5 Ghz (what I bought it for) doesn't.

Overall Review: Always a crapshoot with refurbished. This is the first time I've been disappointed though, so that's a plus. Hopefully Newegg processes my refund RIGHT this time. Last time I returned stuff, some idiot in accounting tried screwing me out of 20 bucks. They finally caved and returned some of it, but kept seven cents in tax for the ninety-nine cent game that came with the gpu I returned. Well, whatever. It's better than losing 20. Because of that, I refused to buy the 980Ti I originally intended to purchase. Hope that guy gets fired, quick.

Broken

ASRock AM1B-ITX AM1 USB 3.0 HDMI Mini ITX AMD Motherboard
ASRock AM1B-ITX AM1 USB 3.0 HDMI Mini ITX AMD Motherboard

Pros: Nice and cheap mini-ITX board. Plenty of features and would be great for a small home server or HTPC.

Cons: Mine died. Dead boards aren't really a new thing to me and I was considering just returning it for another one, but the reviews on this one are quite accurate. Although mine did eventually post after resetting the BIOS, it has the weird habit of refusing to if you let it sit for a while or unplug it and move the station. It won't post again until you do another BIOS reset. As others mentioned, it can be finicky about its power supply, so that's a possibility, but I'd rather be safe than sorry. Going with ASrock's parent company ASUS for this build instead.

Overall Review: I would have stuck with it if I didn't know I might need to move this station often. If it were just going to sit in a corner all day and night and stay on, I might have kept it, although it would have eventually died on me. A bad BIOS is a pretty good sign this board is on its way out.

Why?

GIFT AMD BRONZE 1 GAME 2014 (Up to $50 Retail Value)
GIFT AMD BRONZE 1 GAME 2014 (Up to $50 Retail Value)

Pros: Free, supposedly

Cons: Apparently, they charge your card anyway. If this charge clears on my credit card, I'm returning everything and probably won't use Newegg anymore.

Overall Review: They didn't do this the last time I purchased a video card. I don't know what changed about their policy, but this is an inconvenience that should not be suffered by customers.
