Acer B243PWLAJbmdrz Black 24" 14ms height&pivot adjustable Widescreen LED Backlight LCD Monitor, IPS Panel 300 cd/m2 ACM 100,000,000:1 (1000:1) Built-in Speakers

Pros: Excellent monitors - I have purchased purchased around 20 of these for our office in November 2013. Today - 9 months later we are still very satisfied with the monitors. We are using them both in landscape and portrait configuration. They have very good color and viewing angles in both orientations. We use them in triple monitor setups, primarily for office and professional applications (accounting). Good resolution, IPS panel, good picture at a good price. I'll be ordering more this fall.

Cons: None.

Overall Review: About the best monitor at $250 range I have bought in the past 5 years (out of around 80 monitors purchased).

HP Compaq SmartBuy LA2405x Brushed Aluminum and Black 24" 5ms height, pivot & swivel adjustable Widescreen LED Monitor 250 cd/m2 DC 3,000,000:1 (1000:1)
HP Compaq SmartBuy LA2405x Brushed Aluminum and Black 24" 5ms height, pivot & swivel adjustable Widescreen LED Monitor 250 cd/m2 DC 3,000,000:1 (1000:1)

Pros: + Excellent monitor, cheap for the 1920*1200 resolution. + Image is excellent through either connection (I have tested VGA, DVI and DP connections). + Rotates to portrait. I'm buying 5 more of these for my office.

Cons: Price from NewEgg. I bought it somewhere else $40 cheaper.

Allows up to 3 external monitors for Dell laptops

VisionTek 900340 DisplayPort to SL DVI-D Active Adapter (M/F)
VisionTek 900340 DisplayPort to SL DVI-D Active Adapter (M/F)

Pros: We have been looking for a way to hook up 3 external monitors to our Dell laptops. The active DP-to-DVI dongles allow this and are a lot cheaper than those sold by Dell (~$100 each). Dell Precision 4600 or higher laptops with E-port Plus docking station allow 1 VGA connection and 2 Display Port connection. If you need all three active, you have to use "active" DP-to-DVI connectors. This also works on Dell Optiplex 7010 desktops with only the onboard video cards (Intell HD 2500 - with 1 VGA and 2 DP connections). We are using these in both setups and are happy with the results.

Cons: None at this point.
