1st Build w/ a SSD

OCZ Vertex Series 2.5" 30GB SATA II MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) OCZSSD2-1VTX30GXXX
OCZ Vertex Series 2.5" 30GB SATA II MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) OCZSSD2-1VTX30GXXX

Pros: Had this baby for a month now so I think it's broken in. It's running on my media center machine win7x64. If you are going to build a new machine I highly recommend making this your boot/os drive. Yes it's small 30gigs but for running the OS/Media Center/XBMC software this got the room for all that plus some. My boot time is about 12 seconds now ... after I figured out how to disable these crazy splash screens my new MB comes with.

Cons: Price and Size... they really need to come down and I am starting to see it happening now. Need bigger sizes 600gigs for $1200 bucks is just crazy right now. But if you are building a super computer I would pay that much.

Overall Review: I cannot wait to see WORKSTATIONS made with these drives... that's what really kills my Rendering in Revit =) Background: Been building puters for about 10 years now so I have a good idea on how things work. Please understand some older MB might have issues with these...if you are a builder you need to dig around some 1st... make sure you MB has a newer BIOS that supports SSD. Some of these people just review and tell you a product sucks b/c they did not take the time to understand and learn how it works.

27 LED Flashlight/Worklight with Hook
27 LED Flashlight/Worklight with Hook

Pros: good light... but for 10 bucks not 20 like you guys have it.

Cons: What is going on newegg... I had to go to Ama-zon and order this flashlight.... it was 10 bucks cheaper.

Overall Review: I love everything about newegg... but please start looking at these prices guys. I always try to buy items from you guys first but I am not going to over pay by 50%.

XFX GeForce GTX 260 896MB GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 SLI Support Graphics Card GX260NADF9
XFX GeForce GTX 260 896MB GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 SLI Support Graphics Card GX260NADF9

Pros: If you are a gamer and want something that will push that system of yours, get this card. Everything looks fantastic ... I mean everything... you name it I play it and this card can run it. The blending and masking this card can do is beautiful. The shadows and smoke never looked so real, but wait to u see the colors WOW. Nvidia keep doing what you’re doing!!!!

Cons: BIG … BIGGER … BIGGEST … If you are a older cat like me you will remember them 3dfx voodoo cards … they were pretty big right? Wrong this thing is huge!!!! Oh and it needs power lots of it :)

Overall Review: I like the disgn of these new cards ... the only thing that scares me is heat ... but time will tell.

new build for me

Intel Core 2 Quad Q6700 - Core 2 Quad Kentsfield Quad-Core 2.66 GHz LGA 775 95W Processor - BX80562Q6700
Intel Core 2 Quad Q6700 - Core 2 Quad Kentsfield Quad-Core 2.66 GHz LGA 775 95W Processor - BX80562Q6700

Pros: this must be my 9th or 10th build of gaming systems and I always used the other guy AM# ... this one time I wanted to see what all the hype was about w/ these quad cores that intel has and see if they are any good. Since the price difference is very small right now I just went for it. And I am happy as could be… I never buy the newest cpu, ram or anything but I do try to get something 6 months or less old just to save a buck or two. I very happy to say it’s a good choice and seems to be the way to go.

Cons: None speed wise or performance … I just don’t really like the way these new cpu’s mount to MB .. they need to come up w/ something a little better these little plastic connections scare me.

Overall Review: I don’t post much so since this is my one shot here I go… when reading reviews never start w/ the cons, these people that have dead cpu’s, mb or whatever I don’t think ever built a system from scratch… sometimes u need to read the mb guide to understand how to set up the system. So please take the time to read all the information and take your time… don’t tighten them mb screws too tight :P
