Most Critical Review

Nice product - Not great support

CORSAIR Vengeance 64GB (8 x 8GB) DDR3 1866 (PC3 14900) Desktop Memory Model CMZ64GX3M8A1866C9
CORSAIR Vengeance 64GB (8 x 8GB) DDR3 1866 (PC3 14900) Desktop Memory Model CMZ64GX3M8A1866C9

Pros: In the past Corsair was a quality product

Cons: My first mistake was assuming Corsair quality was how it always has been... I got a bad set out of the box and ran with it without testing (that old saying about assume always seems to apply).... after tons of bizarre issues I tossed the system into Memtest and found hundreds of errors on 3 out of the 8 sticks.... Contacted Corsair support - held until the system forced me into leaving a voice mail... no return call no return contact.... tried again the next day since their support hours are M-F 7:30am-5:30pm PDT only and held until I got the voicemail again... left another message and got no return call Opened an RMA ticket online and paid my $480 advance replacement charge on Thursday night, they shipped UPS 3 Day Select on Monday... got the new memory in but it had a small issue... tried contacting Corsair support and after holding for a while was dumped into a voicemail again.... I resolved the issue myself but am still left with a bad taste in my mouth of no follow up whatsoever by Corsair... this company used to have rock solid support...

Overall Review: Don't assume the product will be fine... run your Memtest on it for a day or so to be sure and save yourself the hassles of dealing with RMAs with Corsair not to mention save yourself the shipping charges....

Lousy customer service

Logitech 920-004985 G19s Keyboard
Logitech 920-004985 G19s Keyboard

Pros: Looks great while it works

Cons: Logitech has the worst customer service for warranty support I have ever experienced. It seems it is all handled by a call center in India by non Logitech employees who have to get approval for any RMA and cannot do any type of advanced exchange. You have to ship the defective keyboard to them and after the test it they will ship you a replacement in 10-14 days. So how many of you want to be without your keyboard for a few weeks Buy another companies product and save yourself the warranty nightmare

Dell 30" 60Hz IPS Height Adjustable IPS LCD Monitor 6 ms HDMI, DVI, DisplayPort, Mini-DP, 6-1 media reader U3014

Pros: None at this point

Cons: Dell's next business day warranty is an utter falsehood... I have been "dispatched" a replacement unit from Dell as of October 12, 2013 and is now November 4, 2013. I have been on the phone with them all morning and all they can tell me is there was a production issue and they are working on getting me a replacement. In the meantime I have a $1200 monitor that is not as good as my $200 27" Samsung... If Dell ever honors their warranty I will update the review with more information at that point, but for the time being I highly recommend no one buys this monitor. And incidentally the "next business day" warranty Dell claims on this monitor I have been told that does not apply to replacements but only for any parts that I might need to replace on the monitor myself. So I guess that is only for the video cable?

Overall Review: Worst $1200 ever spent on my computer....

Beware the renewal

Pros: Good software

Cons: They will hose you on the renewal and double the cost ** BEWARE **

Bad to non existent support

ASUS Rampage IV Extreme LGA 2011 Intel X79 USB 3.0 Extended ATX Intel Motherboard
ASUS Rampage IV Extreme LGA 2011 Intel X79 USB 3.0 Extended ATX Intel Motherboard

Pros: Lots of nice features

Cons: *** Asus Support is horrible *** After holding on the phone for literally hours I hung up and got on an online chat session for support... the tech on the chat confirmed what Intel and Corsair already stated that the motherboard had issues that was causing the memory and CPU to not perform correctly... Asus then setup an "advanced exchange" but after three days I have had no updates or contacts from them at all.... Their normal support is you send in the board and they repair it and get it back to you in a few weeks... not sure about the majority of you but being without a system for a few weeks would be rather painful considering it is how I make my living.... So here I wait learning daily that Asus is not what they used to be... After holding again today and eventually hanging up for a chat session I find out Asus has done NOTHING in 3 days with my case... even though I have the previous chat logs showing their agent opening the advanced exchange and getting the process going I find out today they are telling me nothing was done.... Check out all the bad customer service issues Asus is having the last several months and consider how important it is to have a company stand behind their products especially on a $450 motherboard and then take your money elsewhere for your own sanity

Overall Review: Buy something else.... plenty of other brands with actually customer service that stands behind their product... Don't be fooled like I was....

Stay far away from Samsung monitors

SAMSUNG 27" TN LCD Monitor 2ms GTG D-Sub, HDMI B350 Series S27B350H
SAMSUNG 27" TN LCD Monitor 2ms GTG D-Sub, HDMI B350 Series S27B350H

Pros: Looks nice while they actually work properly

Cons: Warranty support is a utter joke... they will only do an exchange after 3 (three) failed repair attempts in which you are without a monitor for weeks at a time... Go with Viewsonic or any other of the more reputable companies that will actual provide real warranty support... All you need to know about Samsung... they have reduced all their 3 year parts and labor warranties to 1 year... tell you anything about their quality and support now?

Overall Review: I used to love Samsung monitors, they became my go to after years of Viewsonic use. My experience with trying to get the warranty honored and my P2770H repaired has forever tainted my view of this company. Having to send it in 3 separate times and then having to wait on approval to see if they "can" authorize a exchange is a joke.
