No problems!

ASUS M2N-SLI Deluxe AM2 NVIDIA nForce 570 SLI MCP ATX AMD Motherboard
ASUS M2N-SLI Deluxe AM2 NVIDIA nForce 570 SLI MCP ATX AMD Motherboard

Pros: This board detected my 6000+ X2 without any intervention whatsoever. Overall, assembly was a breeze, and I really like the heatsink mounts of the new AM2 -- last time I assembled a PC, I was working with a 2500+ Athlon (Barton) and getting the heatsink on was terrible! RAM slots are spaced nicely allowing my GSkill RAM with heatsinks to fit well on the motherboard. Plenty of USB slots and I like having some spare 1394 connections, though I've never used one. eSATA in the back is nice. BIOS shows PC health, CPU temp and fan speeds.

Cons: The SATA slots are RIGHT in line with the first PCI-E slot making it a tight fit with my eVGA 8800GT. They do give you right angle SATA cables though. It it still really tight though...

Overall Review: I wish they'd shipped rounded IDE cables, but that's a minor issue. The board does seem to run hot, so be mindful of your cooling. Otherwise, I appreciated the clearly labelled slots and the extra pinout tools for connecting the case power, reset and HDD lights to the main board. I wish there were connectors for front-case audio.

Broken after 1 week

EVGA 512-P3-N802-A1 GeForce 8800GT 512MB 256-bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Supported Video Card
EVGA 512-P3-N802-A1 GeForce 8800GT 512MB 256-bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Supported Video Card

Pros: It has interesting artwork on the heat sink?

Cons: Well, after less than 1 week of usage, the stupid card is dead. I first noticed a problem when COD4 kept locking up and crashing. Now, my brand new computer won't even POST -- I get the standard POST error message of one long beep followed by 3 short beeps... standard message for dead video card. I also noticed that this card ran VERY hot, and the on board heat sink fan NEVER ramped up to cool properly. They (EVGA) *JUST* released a BIOS update to correct this issue with the fan, but it might have been too late for me. I tried using software to ramp the fan speed, but the damage must have been done earlier. Needless to say, I'm NOT pleased with this product and will be submitting an RMA with EVGA. I'll be forced to pay shipping too, which is unfair since this is a hardware failure on THEIR part. Even if this does work out and I get a working card from Evga, I'll think VERY hard about ordering any other products from them. 1st bad experience from a newegg component.

Overall Review: I probably won't purchase from EVGA again. Its possible I have a bad seed, but with explicit instructions to RMA through EVGA and *NOT* Newegg, I'm left paying return shipping and having to divulge credit card data to EVGA to allow for cross ship. Newegg already has my data, so I'd rather use them.

Attractive heatspreaders

G.SKILL 2GB (2 x 1GB) DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model F2-6400CL5D-2GBNQ
G.SKILL 2GB (2 x 1GB) DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model F2-6400CL5D-2GBNQ

Pros: Used in a ASUS M2N-SLI Deluxe with a AMD 6000+ x2 and the system booted right up no problems. I'll be ordering some more when the price is right.

Cons: Mandatory heat spreaders might be too wide for some motherboard configurations. Check to make sure you'll have enough space. I have plenty of space on mine.

Overall Review: I'll buy some more down the road.

Bang for the buck.

AMD Athlon 64 X2 6000+ - Athlon 64 X2 Windsor Dual-Core 3.0 GHz Socket AM2 125W Processor - ADX6000CZBOX
AMD Athlon 64 X2 6000+ - Athlon 64 X2 Windsor Dual-Core 3.0 GHz Socket AM2 125W Processor - ADX6000CZBOX

Pros: My ASUS M2N-SLI Deluxe motherboard picked the chip up right away and its up and running. Should OC to 6400+ no problems. Heatsink is big.

Cons: Heatsink fan is noisy on bootup, but quickly quiets once motherboard sensor takes temp. If your motherboard isn't capable of that (rare condition), you might want a quieter heatsink fan.

Overall Review: Overall, I'm pleased so far. This thing really screams in Vista.
