Great card
Pros: Transfers slightly faster than the USB port on my laptop!
Cons: No problems at all
Overall Review: Which it had a fire wire hookup too, but I don't own anything that uses it, and don't know if I ever will
It works
Pros: It delivers power as expected
Cons: pins in the legacy power plastic enclosure seem somewhat loose
Overall Review: This may not be a good option if you plan to remove/replace the cable a lot, but it is cheap.
Super easy to setup
Pros: Works great. Installation is simple if you spend the time to find drives on the hardware compatibility list which is numerous. X-RAID2 is great. Support. Using DLNA service I am able to run videos, pictures, and music on it through my Sony Blu-Ray players. Also the add-ons are awesome.
Cons: Not the 6 disk version, wish I had paid for the extra space since X-Raid2 makes expanding the volume so easy.
Overall Review: Pairs well with CyberPower 1350VA UPS & Western Digital Red WD30EFRX 3TB Drives
Great for ReadyNAS Ultra 4+
Pros: The ReadyNAS Ultra series is a great NAS but it has been hard to find HDs to match their compatibility list until they recently updated to include this model. I am running 4 in it and they are great, power consumption is quire, low and I cannot hear the actual drives unless I place my ear right up to the NAS.
Cons: The actual method shipped I think is what has led to the RMAs mentioned on here for DOA. I am not sure if this is WD's packaging or NewEggs. For the record I had no issues though.
Overall Review: Buy this if you want 3TB drives for Netgear ReadyNAS Ultra 4+
Seems great so far
Pros: Quiet, good speeds, decent capacity
Cons: none yet
Overall Review: Some said this was noisy, but I cannot hear it running over the CPU fan unless I put my head to the case. Guess whoever wrote that had a bad case
Good Upgrade for PATA Legacy Machines
Pros: It has 4 SATA2 Ports and comes with 4 data cables
Cons: It does not come with legacy power cables, which is odd as almost certainly anyone ordering this would need them. Don't forget to purchase these separate with this product. The CD with drivers wants to copy them to a 3.5" floppy (couldn't even find a blank one anymore to use), so plan to pre download the drivers from the Promise website.
Overall Review: The documentation is poorly written. I would not get this one if you are not technically savy. Based on price though, I am actually ordering a second one to upgrade my other PC. Its a little of a pain to get this running, but it is good for the price.
