Decent
Pros: - Ordered 4 Drives all came working with minimal bad sectors - Decently cheap and a decent amount of storage - all 4 drives in Hardware Raid 10 transfer speeds of about 90-110 MB/s
Cons: - Newegg kinda dropped the ball on the packaging of these drives i am well aware that they are bare drives and i have bought many bare drives before these but for the love of all that is... why would you wrap them in a single layer of bubble wrap and just throw them in the box (O.O) i guess i should be happy they even in anti-static bags. come on newegg you are better than that i know you are!
Overall Review: Usually im a western digital person but for 3 TB drives WD's are just to expensive and 2TB are just not enough for what im looking for. All in all, all is well ....... So far! im sure ill be back in about 361 days for some more to replace the ones that are no longer working :D 1 Year warrenty HA!!!
Nice mining card
Pros: Card is great for mining cryptocurrency's takes a high overclock like a boss as long as you can cool it properly 1155 Mhz core 1575 Mhz Mem @ 1.25v getting about 680 Kh/s per card mining scrypt running 3 cards.pulling about 1040W from the wall.
Cons: Absolutely HATE the cooling design of these cards the fans blow the majority hot air from the heat sinks out the back of the cards so if you have a card on top of another the bottom card blows hot air directly into the other even if you have 6 inch pci-e expander and an open air case this is still a real problem i have 3 cards as far away from each other as possible first card 61C, 2nd 67C, last 71c with ambient temp of 18C and a desk fan blowing on all 3... during the summer heat is a serious problem i could not imagine running even 2 cards sli in a case without pci-e expanders.
Good Board but..
Pros: Great price Nice board has plenty of pci-e slots if using for mining
Cons: Frustrating with Linux x64 bit distros some work some don't. There are plenty of Linux distos that do work but you need to play with iommu setting in the bios to get usb / NiC working properly and some 64bit kernels don't work at all. If you are planing on using linux with this board just dont unless you would like a headache trying to figure out how to get everything working properly. I was trying to install Ubuntu server 12.04 x64 for a hashcat install and only the usb 3.0 ports work its also not possible to install via usb you need to install by cdrom and i was unable to get the nic card working even with changing the iommu settings in bios because Ubuntu server simply wont start with it Enabled. I was forced to Install windows 7 i usually stand by Gigabyte as a company but i feel they dropped the ball on this one.
Overall Review: Maybe im missing something about the NIC / usb problem with certain x64 Linux distros but it seems plenty of others are having issues as well.
Nothing but awsome
Pros: Seriously hardcore! Purchased this and a norco rpc-4224 and populated the enclosure with 24 Seagate Constellation ES ST2000NM0001 2TB 7200 RPM drives in Raid 60. Absolutely epic this controller crushes anything i throw at it truly EPIC! i have seen some benchmarking sites hit 4.7Gb/s read speeds with quality ssd's.
Cons: Wish it came with a BBU from the factory the only reason i mention this is honestly i cant find anything else about this controller that i could place in the con category, well maybe the price... best 1,500 i have ever spent.
Pros: Another top notch product from corsair! i have 3 ati HD 7950's on a coin mining rig overclocked and this power supply gets the job done nicely i have confidence that my hardware is safe and powered as it should be.
Cons: None as of now.
Pros: Its ram and it works
Cons: Not a fan of the flashing blue lights but im sure someone will just not my thing.
