great value, room for everything we needed
Pros: Works great, we have two E5-2630 cpu's, 64 gig ram, 8 sas hot swap drives and 2 internal drives. This will be a great low cost VM host for our company to get us into virtualization, we have 8 drives on one adaptec 6805 raid for a data store and the 2 internal drives on another raid controller for vmware OS. Case is cozy but everything has space, it's a 2u rack so that's to be expected, cooling doesn't seem to be an issue and setting up alerts through supermicro's IPMI management interface is nice in case we had problems.
Cons: none yet
Overall Review: We didn't have the budget for the $2000 super-micro case on newegg so this one is a great fit. having the 2 internal slots for hard drives was nice so that we could have a separate raid to run vmware off of. vmware doesn't install to onboard raid volume as mirrored, this isn't supermicro's fault it's vmware's since the onboard raid is a software raid.
great, fast, no issues
Pros: great processor, got 2 in my supermicro 6027R-TRF
Cons: none
great processor
Pros: great price point, great power
Cons: none
Great 1u Rack, we liked them enough to order a 2nd
Pros: holds two 3.5" hard drives, it's cozy but we got them in. great management from the SuperMicro IPMI built in interface, able to control power, remote console control and gain access to all server sensor readings. internal fans and heatsink keep the cpu at a good temp and they run nice and quite.
Cons: manual didn't have instructions on installation of 2nd drive.
Does job, what more could i ask for
Pros: i have multiple network devices that need connected, now they can all be connected at once
Cons: I didn't get free coffee with my order this time...
works great, great price
Pros: grabbed this and added 8gb ram, great laptop, nice and fast
Cons: seems like all dell does these days is find bloatware to put on these things... and make affordable laptops
