A portable and powerful "desktop"

Pros: THE SPECIFICATIONS! This is the best laptop for the price, it has everything. The fact that this laptop has a dual core with 1GB of RAM and an ATI x1400 video card made it great. I was able to play Doom 3 and Battlefield 2 smoothly on Medium settings...yes! that's good for a laptop. The battery lasts longer than most other laptops(set your video card's "powerplay" settings to get longer battery life)The screen is nice, big and crystal clear. The laptop is very stylish and slim, and the webcam is a plus for video/photo emailing or using it online with messengers. Intel core duo is pretty fast, I have an AMD athlon 64 X2 3800+ desktop and this laptop's core duo CPU is comparable to that. Hard drive comes in two FAT32 partitions: c and d. Two partitions is a pro for me because it keeps me organized.
Cons: The screen can be reflective if it's used outdoor on a bright sunny day. And dirt seems to be attracted to the glossy screen, so keep a moist towel handy. Speakers are a little weak and lack in bass. The softwares that comes with the laptop are pretty much useless to me, so i uninstalled them all.
Overall Review: Most of Acer's laptop comes with FAT32 HDD's like this one. For those who wants to convert the Hard drive from FAT32 to NTFS format, do the following: 1. Click on "Start -> Run" 2. In the Run box type "cmd" (without the quotes of course). 3. In the new "Command Prompt" window that appears/opens type the following "convert c: /fs:ntfs" (without the quotes, if you also want to convert d, then just replace the "c" with the letter "d" ). 4. You will be asked to enter the name of your hard disk. 5. Type Y for each of the questions. 6. Reboot if necessary
NOT good

Pros: Ummm, the wired internet works ok.
Cons: Wireless internet drops a few times a day and to get wireless internet back, the router must be restarted; very annoying. Range isn't so great. The router is very hot on the bottom...
Overall Review: I returned this router and got a Buffalo wireless router for the same price, but 10 times better...
attractive card

Pros: This thing is an OC monster, got core to 880 and mem to 1300(gddr5 can go much higher) and ran 3dmark06 for fun and got 16505k with a 3Ghz q6600. 3dmark06 score at stock speed may be lower than the competitor, but in games. it's the opposite. so 3dmarks06 doesn't mean much anymore other than giving you a reference score. 4870 totally rocks in FPS and image quality.
Cons: Not as hot as everyone said. Much cooler than my previous 8800GT and 9800GTX with fan on 30%. They were both idling in the 60C's. 4870 idling in high 40's
Overall Review: CUSTOMPC4U: Let's face it, your 9600GT is old news and bashing the 4870 doesn't make it any faster. As for 3dmark06...im sure if you get a quad core CPU OC to 4Ghz, your score will raise a few K's...that shows how inaccurate the program is in testing video cards. If i were to work for Nvidia, i'd thank you for taking a bite out of my competitor.
Amazing card

Pros: I upgraded to this card from a 9800GTX and the image quality is much much better in Crysis(1680x1050, High) and also faster in FPS. Same goes for Mass Effect. The card's cooler is very good, Asus has the Smartdoctor software to raise the fan speed so you don't have to edit the original driver . The fan is at a QUIET 30%. Card idles in high 40s and 50-65c in load depending on the games. Cooler than my 9800gtx in temp. It is about half to almost an inch shorter than 9800gtx. This card is guaranteed to run any games today at 1680x1050 reso on max settings butter smooth. Scored only a bit faster than my 9800gtx in 3dmark06...but that's not accurate anyways since your other hardware plays a factor in your overall score. The real result is in games, you will see the power of this card in your games. Love the GDDR5.
Cons: The only thing people(those who didn't buy from Asus) complain about this card is it's hot...just edit your ATI driver to turn up the fan...because the cooler is terrific.
Overall Review: I have this card along with a Q6600 @ 3ghz, Gigabyte P35 DS4 and 4GB of ddr2 800. PS: Asus has nice packaging like others have mentioned.
Feel like trading in my 8800GT

Pros: Dual GPUs on same PCB
Cons: if i put this card inside my case, she will love it. :p
Overall Review: Considering it's cheaper than the 8800GTX, it has all the rights and more to be compared with the more expensive GTX/Ultra.
great card

Pros: Very good improvement from my 2900xt and it is much cooler and uses less energy. 3Dmark06 with this card at stock settings is 13400. At 750 core and 1000mem, i get 14200.
Cons: Heatsink is too light for this beast. Changed to the Zalman VF900 cooler and it idles in the high 30's and load in the mid 50's(C) Was idling in the high 40's and loading in the 70-80's before.
Overall Review: PC: Q6600 @ 3Ghz/Gigabyte P35-DS4/2GB GSkill DDR2 800/8800GT/Hiper 580watts PSU/Antec 900
