Update after additional usage

DELL Laptop Inspiron Intel Core i3 1st Gen 330UM (1.20GHz) 2GB Memory 250GB HDD Intel HD Graphics 11.6" Windows 7 Home Premium 64-Bit iM101z-3980BK
DELL Laptop Inspiron Intel Core i3 1st Gen 330UM (1.20GHz) 2GB Memory 250GB HDD Intel HD Graphics 11.6" Windows 7 Home Premium 64-Bit iM101z-3980BK

Pros: I discovered the trackpad is multi-touch in Windows 7, which isn't true of my work laptop with an i7. I streamed some HD movies online and it ran them without glitching. Startup took 40 seconds to the login screen and another 30 seconds to a fully operational desktop with the standard hard drive and 4GB of RAM.

Cons: I can't decide whether to keep the Dell Dock or not. It tries to imitate OSx, but it doesn't really provide any value when you have the Windows taskbar. Still a bit annoyed I had to waste a jump drive because the computer did not come with a Windows CD.

Overall Review: The processor is a Core i3 330UM which is built for efficiency and long battery life. The battery says it will last about 5 and a half hours from when I unplugged it. Additional the Core i3 has 2 cores not 4, so if you're looking to do demanding things with this processor, look elsewhere. This is really just a value oriented laptop with a solid battery life and compact size, that is just sufficient enough for some basic media and normal workloads. It is not for gaming although it comes preloaded with tons of garbage games.

Satisfied so far

Pros: 11" convenient size and core i3 processor at a cheap price. It worked out of the box, well after an hour of updates and doing the hard drive back up to a USB stick. The combo deals sweeten the package quite a bit IMO, I got the MS arc mouse, a 16GB flashdrive, and 2GB of RAM with mine.

Cons: It does appear like there is some random bloatware, which I'll be deleting shortly. Doesn't come with a Windows 7 CD, so you need to backup your computer using the Dell DataSafe to an 8GB USB stick. The laptop is little bit heavier than i expected, in fact it feels as heavy as my 15" Macbook Pro.

Overall Review: I purchased this solely as a DMX intelligent lighting controller for a bar that I work at because it's cheap and small. I also might use it on trips abroad, because I won't have to worry as much about it being stolen from a hotel room. I'll have to update on performance after I use it a bit longer. So far seems average.

So Far So Good

SAMSUNG 830 Series MZ-7PC512N/AM 2.5" 512GB SATA III MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) Notebook Upgrade Kit

Pros: No issues so far. It's been running fast. My boot time went from 1:30 to 50 seconds. I only have SATA2, so I'm not getting max speeds. I did not actually need the notebook mounting bracket for my unibody macbook pro to make it 2.5" it will mount fine as a 1.7" drive, so I could've ordered the desktop model and bought a SATA to USB dongle. I used SuperDuper for mac to clone my drive over the USB and it took a painful 8 hours to copy over 460GB over the USB.

Cons: None so far. Drive works fine and is fast.

Overall Review: I still feel some buyers remorse based on the price of this drive and I think I could've held off another year for another price drop, now that I own it, and stopped drooling over how great it would be to have extra speed. For some reason I thought it was going to make my 1:30 boot time 10 seconds, even though most advertising and articles say SSDs 'double speeds. Lol.
