Great case

Antec VSK-2000 Black Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case
Antec VSK-2000 Black Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

Pros: The case is inexpensive, built very well and lightweight. My philosophy these days regarding computer cases is it is there to hold my gear, not look flashy, this case does this perfectly. The power button (solid feel to it)and usb are on the top, this was a must have for me as I have my case on the floor. The front cover is very nice looking, clean and simple with a metal mesh front that allows great airflow. Behind the mesh front is a thin foam to act as a dust filter to catch big particles. The front cover is only snapped in on the left side and hinges on the right so it can easily be removed for frequent cleaning of the filter. The fan mount on the front is simply awesome, it too is snapped in on the left and hinged on the right and allows two 120mm fans mounted. It is easily removed so if you wanted to add in new harddrives you could do so from the front very easily. I think I looked at every case on newegg, and this one fit the bill perfectly on features and price.

Cons: My only con with this case, and for me it was a moot point as i don't use it, is the audio cable from the front panel, just as others have stated, is just a few inches short to reach the motherboard connectors. I didn't hook up my front panel audio cables, as I never use them so I didn't care. Just if you are wondering, the power connectors and usb are plenty long enough to reach my motherboard connectors (Asus P7P55D)

Overall Review: I was worried about my video card fitting as a previous reviewer complained about his not fitting. Well I can tell you with full confidence the motherboard (full size ATX Asus) and video card (nvidia 470gtx) fit just fine, they lined up perfectly. The video card fit exactly as it should. Other people have complained about the case being lightweight or thin. Sure it's thinner then some but that's what makes it very lightweight. The case is plenty solid and could easily make journeys to lan parties unlike what others have said. It is similar in weight to some of the aluminum cases which to me is a plus. I don't need an armored tank when it's just going to sit under my desk. I was a little worried getting this case with some of the reviews, but those reviewers were way far off and overly critical (only exception the audio cable). This case is great, I am quite happy with it.

Most Critical Review

Good for 2 years

WD VelociRaptor WD3000HLHX 300GB 10000 RPM 32MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive Bare Drive
WD VelociRaptor WD3000HLHX 300GB 10000 RPM 32MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive Bare Drive

Pros: One of the fastest drives you could get back a few years ago. Nice heat sink built into drive case. Inexpensive in comparison to SSD. More space for you money compared to SSD. Quiet for a 10,000 rpm.

Cons: Slower compared to SSD. (today's standards) Moving parts that may go bad. After 1.5 years of use, I am getting bad sectors.

Overall Review: I got this drive 1.5 years ago for a new pc I built, it has been running just fine until lately when I started getting SMART warnings that the drive was going to die soon. Running the WD disk check utility produced errors regarding bad sectors. I will RMA the drive back to WD as it's still under warranty and hopefully they will provide me with a replacement. If not I will step up to a 256gb SSD. I am still giving it 3 stars as it's been a good drive, and drives do go bad, just didn't expect it to be after only 1.5 years of use.

Died after 1 year 10 months

Plextor M5P Series 2.5" 512GB SATA III MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) PX-512M5Pro
Plextor M5P Series 2.5" 512GB SATA III MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) PX-512M5Pro

Pros: I purchased this SSD in May of 2013. It ran very fast, windows and programs load great. It was my first SSD and I loved the performance.

Cons: It died after 1 year 10 months of use. The drive is no longer detected by the system. I called Plextor support and they concurred it had died. I started the RMA process, still waiting for my replacement to come in. I hope to get at least 2 more years out of the replacement to justify the cost I originally paid for it.

Great for 1.5 years and counting

Razer Carcharias Over Ear PC Gaming Headset
Razer Carcharias Over Ear PC Gaming Headset

Pros: I bought these about 1.5 years ago and have been using them almost daily for hours on end. Pros are: -Soft cloth ear cups fit around your ear so nothing is pushing on the ear. They feel good wearing them for long hours. -Sound and mic quality is great. Never any complaints by other guys listening to me, and speakers put out great sound on my end. -Cords are wrapped in a sort of thick shoestring cloth material, which allows them to lay nicely and have a good strength too them. Cords are extra long to reach down to the back of the pc.

Cons: I down rated 1 egg for only one reason, the "size" adjuster for these headphones wont stay in place. Also they are just a tad large, I must have a small head as I have them on the tightest position. They could be a squeak tighter, but they still fit comfortably at this position. However, the problem is they won't stay put in the tightest position, they slide out of place over time. I have remedied this by attaching some nice black colored tape on the sliders to hold them in place. Once the size has been fixed in place I love these things.

Overall Review: Carcarias needs to redesign the size adjusting system. Unless you are willing to tape the adjusters in place, or they have since redesigned it, you may need to reconsider.

Great Product

HP LP2475w Black 24" 6 ms Height,Swivel,Pivot & Tilt Adjustable Widescreen LCD Monitor 400 cd/m2 1000:1
HP LP2475w Black 24" 6 ms Height,Swivel,Pivot & Tilt Adjustable Widescreen LCD Monitor 400 cd/m2 1000:1

Pros: Great size (thought it would be too big but actually its perfect),1920x1200 is better then 1920x1080 (more work space), incredibly sharp, clear, absolutely no dimming when changing my view angle (ie-slouching in my chair), great on screen display controls, fantastic stand adjustments for height/angle/tilt/etc., matte black finish on outside bezel and matte finish screen (no stupid mirror effects due to an overly glossy screen), easy to get to power button and controls, zero dead pixels, rich colors, works great for my games.

Cons: My only con is I turn my monitor off via the power button on the front. When I turn it back on an on screen display (showing my connection type) comes on for about 2 seconds that covers a small portion of my screen momentarily. I've played with some of the settings but haven't found an solution. However its a very very minor con.

Overall Review: I originally bought the HP L2445w which was fine but had some noticeable dimming due to changing my viewing angle. It was enough to cause me to return it and step up to the LP2475w, which I have been extremely happy with. I use my monitor for photo editing, browsing, and quite a lot of gaming. This monitor has been excellent for all of those uses.

Not much power but so-so as an optional

Griffin 9783-TJ3 TuneJuice Charger for iPod / iPhone, Black
Griffin 9783-TJ3 TuneJuice Charger for iPod / iPhone, Black

Pros: Uses 4 AAA batteries which could be purchased about anywhere in a pinch. I bought this with the intention of keeping my IPod Touch going on a long international flight. However I am returning it due to its usefulness vs. price.

Cons: Way to pricey for what it offers. This item should be maybe $15 at most. Not worth the cost. Griffin has this thing way overpriced. Also only useful for Apple devices with the attached connection.

Overall Review: Using 4x900mh rechargable AAA batteries, it charged my IPod Touch 1st Gen about 70% then quit charging. I read somewhere else it can only use about 1/2 of a batteries charge. Dont get me wrong it has it's use. But this thing would only be practical if it was really cheap as an extra thing to carry for a little charge when you need it. Definitely not worth the retail price. I returned it to where I purchased and decided to put the money into a built in rechargable option like the Tekkeon MP1800. Which has way more power, and can be used on multiple devices.
