Great quality!
Pros: - nice simple design - easy installation
Cons: - none thus far
Overall Review: I would rank Scythe among the best when it comes to quality products, right behind Noctua. The Mugen 5 has seen several iterations/improvements - I guess they listen to their customers. I like the new Kaze Flex black fan because it increased both the rpm and static pressure without a ton of noise. The installation process is really straightforward and it does the job when cooling Ryzen 7 CPUs and below. Highly recommend!
A $54.99 case advertised as an $79.99 case
Pros: - appears to have enough room at the top for both an ODD and a standard thickness 240mm radiator. - ODD cover attaches to the side of the ODD inside the case to hide the drive from view - decent airflow - PSU shroud ventilated on top and has pre-drilled holes for 120mm fans
Cons: - front cover very difficult to remove - front cover has no filter at the bottom/underside - metal side panel screws are not of the "captive" variety - rubber pads for glass panel not secured to case - PSU shelf mount has thin pads that easily come off when installing PSU - PCI slot covers are the "snap out" variety - SSDs need to be turned upside down for wiring (screw mount) - no radiator mounting screws included to mount fans to the PSU shroud's "pre-drilled" holes - cannot remove 3.5" HDD mount: back panel mount is riveted in while front mount is part of the PSU shroud - general fitment issues
Overall Review: My overall review is based on my feeling that this is not a case that should retail for $79.99. For full disclosure, I bought it on sale for $65.50. Despite the ad from Zalman, the Z1 Plus is not a "premium case". On the exterior it is a perfectly fine design. It's just that the quality and features are lacking for something at a $79.99 price point. I bought this specifically for the optical drive bay. It was frustrating to build in. One of the PSU's mounting holes was almost impossible to align with the case. The upper wiring harness kept interfering with properly aligning my optical drive for mounting so I could reinstall the front cover. The front cover itself is difficult to remove - I kept thinking I was going to break an attachment mount. In this case, the SSDs are supposed to be mounted with the connectors on top. It just looks odd. The cages (two of them) are secured by sliding down onto a mount and then with a thumb screw. Unfortunately that thumbscrew won't allow you to insert the cables to the SSD if you mount it normally. My workaround was to not use the thumbscrew and mount the SSDs with the connectors facing down. Something I liked was the ventilation/mount points for a couple of 120mm fans on the PSU shroud. Though the instructions never mentioned placing fans there, I think Zalman could have included at least four of the longer radiator mounting screws if one were so inclined. Again, I like the design, but this case should be priced at $54.99 instead of $79.99.
A great value 1440p card
Pros: - 16GB VRAM - relatively low power consumption/cooler temps
Cons: - 335mm (13.2 inches) long (make sure you have a big enough case)
Overall Review: - highly recommend!
A unique design that handles older tech!
Pros: - room for two devices that fit a 5.25" bay - easy to build in - great for airflow
Cons: - lack of USB-C cable as standard - large front panel should have come with 140mm fans instead of 120mm - longer GPUs (> 335mm) may be too close to front fans for proper airflow
Overall Review: Overall this is a great case to build in. I got it for the 5.25" bays as I needed an optical drive and I like the fact that the drive bays are at the bottom. The magnetic cover is a little touchy but I have gotten used to it. I like that the top panel has a USB-C opening but was disappointed that there was no cable provided. I think Fractal should have provided 140mm fans for the front, even if they were 3-pin fans. It just looks better. I would definitely recommend this case to others needing 5.25" bays.
A great (refurbished) value!
Pros: - compact size but still has three fans - average temps for core and memory - metal backplate - normal 8-pin PCIe connector - no coil whine
Cons: - fans will create a louder noise than competitors because they're smaller but nothing unberable - plastic shroud
Overall Review: I picked this up as a Newegg Refreshed offering and the price was too good to pass up. It was clean with no markings at all. I'm still playing older game using Unreal Engine 4 and my experience has been that Nvidia cards offer smoother gameplay than AMD for that particular game engine. I undervolted the card while increasing memory speed. Average gameplay has the card running at 150 watts max and temps in the low 60s. Overall I am very satisfied with the card.
Excellent performance but...
Pros: - Airguide technology to help focus airflow - Great lighting effects - great overall performance
Cons: - other fans perform as well for less money - proprietary ARGB connectors - iCue software not very intuitive
Overall Review: No doubt these are great performing fans. It's just the cost and the proprietary connectors on a major brand is a little disappointing. The new iCue Link technology looks promising but the price is getting ridiculous.
Simply Awesome!
- nothing but quality from all the products I have ever purchased (fans and CPU coolers) - highly recommend!
Quality product and fast shipping!
- well-packaged (cardboard only except for the small plastic bag containing the screws) - a good combination of airflow and static pressure at speeds below 2000 rpm
