Pros: The H50 is very quiet. Even when the fan ramps up, I do not hear it or am not bothered by it (when gaming, speakers mask the fan noise completely, even at low volume; during artificial CPU load tests, the fan is noticeable due to a lack of ambient noise, but still very low. The performance of the H50 is unquestionable. I overclocked an i7 930 to 3.6 gh - the H50 handles this easily, as the 1700 rpm fan doesn't ramp up to full speed under 1hr load tests - it tops out ~1530 rpm. The weight (or lack thereof) is a beautiful thing. 1 kg (latest gen air cooler + 2 fans) is an insane amount to hang from a Mobo. The H50's pump & heat spreader combined weight is negligible in comparison.

Cons: The fan / rad mounting screws are a tad short (1 & 1/4") and only come in 1 set of 4. Since Corsair actively recommends a push /pull config with the rad, it should come with a second set of mounting screws, as well as a third set to accommodate the 38mm thickness fans.) I'm being VERY picky here.

Overall Review: If you are using the Mobo headers to pwr / manage the pump & fan(s), the fan(s) should be powered from the CPU_FAN header. This makes the fan(s) respond to CPU temp, not Mobo temp - therefore quicker to respond. Note that the pump should run @ full speed @ all times - an unman-aged 12V header will give this. If you go with the push/pull (2 fan) setup, it's best to use identical fans and run them from 1 header via a Y-splitter. This ensures both fans run @ the same speed which eliminates interference with flow & therefore turbulence, which both limits noise and improves performance. (1) Note that one of the fan's reference signal wire (yellow) should be removed from the circuit, as the Mobo can only handle 1 ref signal. (2) These instructions differ for PWM fans. Lastly - why only 4 eggs? There are air coolers that out perform the H50. There are liquid coolers that out perform the H50. However, imo, the H50 is the best combo of $, db, performance and ease of use.

Cons: The cable sends 2 rpm signals to the controlling device.

Overall Review: One wire (the rpm signal) must be removed from one of the male ends in order to control two fans. If I could give the product 0 eggs, I would.

Great Potential

Pros: - Quiet at low to mid rpm's. - Pushes through a rad very well (excellent air pressure.)

Cons: - Poorly designed. a) The honeycomb lattice surrounding the fan allows a ton of air to spill from the fan blades in directions that do not aid in cooling whatsoever. b) The five piece construction feels incredibly flimsy. It does come apart, but is , imo, a mere gimmick.

Overall Review: This fan has great potential. With slight modding (to cover the honeycomb lattice) I got the air moving in the proper direction. One of these fans in a push setup is on par with the performance I saw from two S-Flex G's in a push / pull configuration - and at a lower rpm (670 rpm single Excalibur vs. 1100 rpm S-Flex G x 2.)

Excellent Ram, Cooler Needs Work

Pros: The ram is running great (5/5 well earned eggs.) Memtest 86+ ver 4.0 ran 4 passes with no errors. The cooler did it's job - the ram topped out @ 42.9 deg's C during the Memtest passes.

Cons: Small chip out of corner of PCB on 1 stick. Has not affected mounting nor operation, so no problem. The memory cooler is a very sloppy fit. The mounting mechanics need a rework. (Hence the -1 egg.)

Overall Review: Without modding the cooler mounting arms, I would not have the cooler in my case. The ram cooler (@ max speed) is somewhat loud under silent conditions (i.e Memtest.) Max speed normally isn't required - ~ 1500 rpm cools quite effectively and is very silent.

Controller Failure, RMA for two drives

Pros: These drives in a raid 0 would have fit the theme (Cool, Clean, & Quiet) of my newest build perfectly - had they worked!!!

Cons: Due to a controller issue, these drives are unflashable when used with a NVIDIA chipset. This takes the TRIM firmware update out of the picture - the only reason I bought these drives now rather than waiting. I attempted all 'fixes' listed in the OCZ forums, to no avail.

Overall Review: Two drives with the same result does not bode well ... From what I read in the same forums, combining these drives into a raid 0 is not nearly as simple as a standard HDD. This product was not ready for release to the public, but we get to serve as beta testers by paying our hard earned $. Completely unacceptable.
